Something tells me O isn’t about the victimization mindset, so no, I don’t think it crossed his mind.

I thought they did march?

And let them, its LSU. If you cannot support a movement you can at least support the players.

Yes.

Pandering works. Orgeron is actually a great politician. He should've done it just to prevent unrest in the locker room.

Saban doesn't give a frick about any of this and he did it because he knows it could help him win football games.

ETA:

It has been confirmed he didn't know about the march, so no one can blame him for this now.

Absolutely. His biggest recruiting rivals are doing it. You best believe it will be pointed out that O didn’t when these coaches meet with the elite recruits everyone is fighting over.

I don’t think any one knows exactly what went down that day. Lsu was supposed to have practice. Coach O was caught offguard by the players skipping practice. I’ve read where he didn’t even know the players were marching the campus until after it started.

I don’t think those of us on the outside really know how the events of that day went down.

But wasn’t O with the team a month ago after they had a a rally/march after George Floyd?

Yea, obviously marching for racial justice is the thing to do nowadays. It’s dumb and serves no point, but whatever.

It was certainly a weird situation. Jacques Doucet has a video of O speaking that afternoon at what looks like the LSU presidents house where the players marched. Maybe O met them over there

- It’s difficult to lead a march you don’t know about
- O has said from the beginning he wants players to lead and be at the forefront. That’s building young men up in a positive way. Not a dictatorship.

To be “ down with the movement “-sure.
To have integrity and do what is best for his players, team and society- no.

80% of black kids being born out of wedlock, skyrocketing criminality, failed neighborhoods, crumbling schools, escalating black on black violence, disregard for law enforcement and The Rule of Law, normalizing hating white people, jettisoning all of MLK’s principles about the content of a man’s character in favor of fundamentally un-American Collective Race Guilt- will not change one bit on the dial with a slogan and a march. The entire Movement is infantile and will do nothing to progress the status of black Americans over time. Nothing, nada, zip. It’s actually COUNTERPRODUCTIVE because it continues to pander and normalize all these rampant social pathologies that have made life so ugly for so many black Americans.

I haven't followed the situation too closely, but is it just assumed that O did not attend the march or has it been confirmed?

I think he should have followed his conscience, not the pressure of any group on any side.

I think he should gather the entire team today and march around campus. And at the end, ask the entire team if there's anyone else who doesn't want to be there. And if there are, show them the door. And whoever is left tell them they've got a season to prepare for and get back to work. Just rip off the band-aid because this shite is becoming ridiculous. Coaches are being held hostage by their players.

ETA: Oh and Orgeron should be in the back of the group so HE is following. Because that's what the players want. The COACH to FOLLOW them.

He should have lead the team - not on a march but by educating them that the victimization crap they've been fed is a lie. That BLM is racist and a political organization, using fools to further its agenda. Play the clips from Marcellus Wiley for them. Play the clips from Herschel Walker for them. Educate them to the BS they are being fed and ultimately used with.

Leading is often hard, especially to do what's right.

Yep, whenever you tell a kid that there’s nothing he can do because of the color of his skin, the damage is already done. Especially if it’s not true. What they need for true change is more two parent households with stable nuclear family values and an emphasis on education. All of this pandering BS is simply political engineering to keep victimization at the forefront and fighting an invisible non-existent enemy.

This is so ridiculous. Is college football or sports in general even about the sport anymore? All this political BS And BLM have completely hijacked every aspect of this country.
