On a beautiful day with plenty of sunshine, a slight breeze, and temps in the high 60s, the team put in a spirited practice that featured a ton of up-tempo and RPO-based drills. Some of that is on display in the following video that Jim shot from his phone:

If LSU has a great season and beats Bama, the sky screaming on the Rant will make CNN/NBC on election night look like a picnic.

Crazy to think we’re the first team to ever run RPO. Fun times in BR

The tempo was pretty awesome to see. I've seen them go fast in practice but never seen them run that particular drill.

Looks good

From Dandy's this morning:
quote:

We’re happy to report that the nose tackle position looks to be in good hands athletically with Tyler Shelvin and Siaki Ika.

Shelvin seems to be in much better shape than last year, and Ika looks like a block of granite, in a good way.

Both were called on in a drill to run about 40 yards, and neither seemed to be lagging even on the third and fourth repetitions. You’ll notice Shelvin (No. 72) in the video, though Ika (No. 62) ran on the opposite side of the field and is hard to see.

You need to temper your enthusiasm and excitement. I can understand your being excited about the new offense after finishing #6 in the nation last season and returning the majority of the players.

But you going totally bonkers giving out lavish praise to the coaching staff and players this early is a little overboard.

If we don't have an effective pass game this year....we have something like the curse of the Bambino over us

There was a big cat video of Shelvin where he looked extremely explosive. He is still a massive human but not sloppy looking anymore.

While you got downvoted plenty, I think I understand the spirit of your post. Everyone is all googly-eyed over this RPO stuff, which is cool, but we are about 5 years behind the rest of the world.

Right. We should just dwell in the past and sulk instead of living in the present

That’s a good point. I hinealty Didn’t think we would make a big change like this and it is pretty exciting.

Brady is not the hireni expected in a good way. Really like the hire.

I am Actually believing what I am Hearing to a certain extent. Not the “I have a friend though my health club who knows a guy at practice and we’re throwing TDS everynplay” but thenarticles and actually media reports

Alabama just three years ago

They did fine without it.

But how does the past affect 2019?
