Most people thought we would make it to the post season, and maybe had an outside chance at hosting a regional. If you would have told me a month ago that we would get a national seed and get to HOST a super I would have said yeah right. CPM is a very good coach that seems to know what buttons to push when.

If women's basketball coach makes more than he does , I would have considered leaving too... That's fricking retarded.
He has every right to be pissed.
Nobody gives a F about girls sports much less basketball.
Baseball is a close second only to football in BR.

Not sure why everyone is saying "deserves" a raise. Didn't the majority think we would make it to the super and that's it? Is a national seed worth a substantial raise? Why not just change the contract to add in a (more substantial?) bonus when he gets one?

On the other hand, I think LSU had to match Texas to keep Paul. If he market value rises, he'd be an idiot not to force their hand

That's the main point in this, IMO.

But to answer your question, no I don't think a majority thought we'd make it to a super going into the season. Definitely didn't think we'd get a national seed. It was probably 50/50 on hosting a regional prior to the season.

Speaking of college baseball coaching changes, La Tech baseball coach Greg Goff is going to Alabama after 2 seasons in Ruston.

Alan Dunn is safe....for now.

Either way, CPM either called or took a call and in 1 day made over $1 Million over several years

not bad

Texas probably ends up with John Savage of UCLA

High School players want to play for a coach like him.

Actually, I've heard the exact opposite. He throws players under the bus ALL THE TIME.

But that's neither here nor there. My main point about this is when will LSU stop fricking pandering to the coaches?? I get it, Paul is a good coach. But lets not act like he's damn Casey Stengel out there. We could find another coach just as good. Why does the athletic department/university ALWAYS cow down to coaches when they do this? Why not just tell them, "ok, good, if you wanna go talk to another school, fine. We'll go talk to other coaches."

There are two ways to get a raise around here. The hard way is to win the National Championship. The easy way is to interview with another school.

I love how the last coach that beat us is always the best option.

I wonder if bama fans have had to endure this about Hugh Freeze the last two seasons?

Too bad. I wanted him to move on and wanted LSU to get some fresh blood into this baseball program. He has hit his ceiling.

In the contract, it clearly states that LSU will provide compensation for CPM's spray tan allowance

What a fricking idiot. I guess you don't think someone who is in the sun for four hours a day nearly every day of the week does not get a natural tan?

Skip was prolly worse than CPM.
A great motivator like honesty doesn't always feel good. This is sports.

LOL
Show your list with "just as good" creds.
What kinda money would you throw out there to reel proven winners in and hope they're a fit?
