Biggest college basketball flop I can ever remember
I don't like him at all but he wasn't necessarily a flop. He only attended college because he had to (NBA rule) and thought he could turn his freshman year into a dunking highlight reel before going to the NBA. He was going to be the #1 no matter what happened.
Writing on the wall for front office execs was his pre-draft profile specifically highlighting the fact that he was only on the court for himself/looking for highlight plays.
One would think he'd want to be a better team player in the NBA to make more money but it feels like he's content casually making money doing absolutely nothing now.

he has no talent. He is just tall. Philly fans I know can't stand him.

But Shaq showed up. Unless he was hurt, he played. Even in his next to last season in Cleveland, he played 53 games. No skipping out because he wasn't in the right state of mind, showing up to games dressed like a clown, and posting endless offseason "see I'm working
He missed a lot of games later in his career and typically showed up pretty hard in the playoffs.
Kobe wasn’t having none of that. Of course, Kobe was a relentless worker playing all summer and during the regular season. He had drive even more than Jordan to be great.
RIP MAMBA!!

Simmons is a social media influencer. Unemployed doing less in society then a homeless man but making more than a doctor

Amazing that teams would be willing to invest that kind of $$ in a player like BS.
It’s literally been his MO

Yes but he's a multimillionaire and you are talking about him on a sports forum and he has no idea who you are.

He is more intelligent than JR. He isn't bankrupt , isn't in jail, and he is still playing, in spite of his injuries.
And not stealing money from high school booster and cashing check at credit union.

You are ignorant of the fact that he was the first and only SEC player to be in the top 10 of the 5 major statistical categories. First team ALL-SEC is not a college flop. Get over yourself dude. I'm not a big Simmons fan but your statement has ZERO merit.

There are a number of fans butt hurt because the 2016 team didn't have more success. Ben Simmons was far from the reason they didn't get an NCAA selection. He had a lot of great games as a Tiger especially as a playmaker..

BROOKLYN, NY—In an effort to drum up excitement and show fans that he was taking his preseason training seriously, Brooklyn Nets power forward Ben Simmons posted a video to Instagram Wednesday in which he is seen prepping for the season by sitting on the bench in a suit. “You’re gonna see plenty of this in the 2023-24 season,” read the caption accompanying a 10-minute video compilation that showed Simmons sitting courtside in various suits, sweaters, and other street clothes. “It was tough at first because my posture wasn’t great and my pants were bunching up at the knees, but I figured it out and now I’m sitting up great #gametime.” At press time, the Nets announced that Simmons would not be on the bench for several weeks after pulling his hamstring while sitting.

He has now as a LSU alumn made just about as much money salary wise as Shaq, Pistol, Angel, Semoine, old guy(slips my mind?) combined The new NBA is a joke, so many rule changes, so many lazyasses, so many making mega bucks off potential. Need to adapt NFL approach though thought of as cruel, you have to EARN your money or you gone.
“Old guy”???? I’ll give it a shot. How about Bob Pettit?

Ben Simmons is one of the biggest shoulda woulda coulda guys ever. His talent level is up there with the greats alltime. The problem is His desire to actually play basketball is also probably near the bottom of any player that has ever played in the NBA.

Simmons is when I quit watching LSU basketball. That was a disaster of a team. A one player team, was HIS thinking and it was sad.

Ben Simmons is the most despicable human being ever to play a professional sport in terms of lack of effort. He even beats Jamarcus Russell out in that regard.
