but I saw 20% or less in the stands

The entire East Upper was nothing but Tenn fans, the West Upper was about 50%, they had almost the entire section around sections 415-420 with about 60-70% UT fans, and the East side had a ton of them as well. That's WAY more than 20% Tenn fans. I would say they may have surpassed the 30% mark.

I'm honestly kind of impressed with the amount of people they brought.

I was more surprised by the South Endzone. Those are typically the old school hard core fans. They sold in droves.

Why?

In their heyday, let’s say from 1996-2002, they traveled better than any SEC team and were up there nationally with Ohio State and Notre Dame with traveling attendance.

I was very much going to LSU games during that period, and I can say that the amount they brought today shite all over the amount they brought in 2000. By a lot.

Yeah they always fill the SEC Championship because it's not that far from Knoxville. But Baton Rouge is 10 hours away and they brought a TON to Tiger Stadium today.

It’s no one’s business what someone does with their own money. If someone wants to buy season tickets and take a crap on every one of them they have the right to do that. I own a camper too. I’m not obligated to take it out as much as you or anyone else thinks I should. I take it out when I want to. If I ever decide I want to sell my tickets, that I bought myself, I can and it’s not your or anyone else’s business. Geezus people

Vols fans travel like the Mongol hordes when they are good. They also felt like they owed some payback to LSU for crushing their dreams the last five times we have played them. It was also their first visit to TS in years.

Shame on you Tiger “fans” that sold your tickets to vol fans on the East side. Should have your season tickets revoked for that. I don’t care the end result, but you can’t even show up to watch a top 25 SEC matchup in Death Valley….. then why even have season tickets?

Who wants to show up to watch paint dry?

I don’t blame any lsu fan for selling their tickets when Brian fricking Polian is being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to shite his pants on a weekly basis.

Whatever helps you sleep. You're a terrible fan if you sell your season tickets to the visiting fans.
End of discussion.

We have a huge number of fair weather fans who only jump on board when things are going well. Didn’t used to be that way. People are spoiled. Should have never increased stadium capacity.

When we won it all in 2019, it was much more special for many of us real fans.

We are not the same as these ticket-selling fairweather MFers who only put on an LSU cap and high-five their buddies when shite is doing good.

You fake arse fanboys talk a good game but, deep in your colon, you know the truth.

When you put them on StubHub you can’t pick who buys them.

Exactly right. Priced out many great fans. The family of 4 that sat behind me for 20 years gave theirs up due to cost. They never missed a game and stayed the entire game. Greed of LSU is killing it. If its a big dollar business, that’s what you get.

Saying the average fan is priced out is nonsense.

Two season tickets in 424 cost me $1720 per year, all in. And there are cheaper options than that.

It's not cheap but it's not prohibitively expensive either and you have an option to pay over several months.

Considering the discretionary income people have to spend on McDonald's and Starbucks and shite like that I wouldn't really say the "average fan" is priced out.

JMO of course.
