How do you lose by 15 at home to Tennessee? LSU has losses to Missouri, Miss. State, Tennessee and Auburn and two of those are at home. That's inexcusable. The conference is bad and LSU should be taking advantage and breezing through it. Instead, it's 10-7 in the league.
I agree with you completely. I was looking ahead to the future. With no real commitment to basketball, and only getting 4 or 5 teams from the conference to the dance, LSU is toast.

the problem is 4 of our 7 losses have come to the bottom teams. That is the sort of thing that causes frustration.

I've yet to see JJ actually show some enthusiasm on the sideline. Looks as if he wants be somewhere else. How can your players show energy when you have zero.

JJ was very fiery with his first team here. Since that team its like he just gets more mellow each year.
I wouldn't mind seeing him get T'd up sometime standing up for his players.

I'm concerned as well. Next year should be fantastic. But after that what? If all our star recruits are one and done then what? I'm not so sure. Guess we will figure that out after we rock next year.

Awesome recruiting with sloppy play

I dont understand how anyone can see the direction the team is headed
Losses to Mizzou, MSU, AU and 15 point home drubbing by Tennessee (who we destroyed on the road)
Wins over WVU, UGA, OM sweep, UF sweep and take UK to the buzzer
What in the everliving frick

Where is Mickey and Martin going to go?
Tonight shows why they aren't likely ready for some of Europe. They need to toughen up down low and develop better skills to post up. Let them work this summer with the newbies and they'll strengthen the skills expected of them at the next level.

Up considering they have the best player in the country coming in next season.

we would have (and did) lost all of those games less than 5 years ago

JJ is not getting the message across to Mickey and Martin. They should be benched sometimes when they are not giving 100% They came into tonight playing like just showing up would be enough. I think JJ isn't doing his job

Mickey and Martin

exactly, he's in such a catch 22, because he can't send a message like that because the team would suck and fans would hate him even more.

If anyone watched WVU last night (loss in OT @Kansas) missing 2 starters and playing against KU and the refs and REALIZE that LSU BEAT THEM, you'd think LSU is a great team.
Same thing with beating Ole Miss twice - a team on paper that matches up well against LSU. Instead, LSU sweeps.
Then you have the unbelievable losses - @Mizz, AU at home, @MSU, tonight - and it's a WTF?!?
Dr Jeckyl have I introduced you to Mr. Hyde?

Our bench and the inconsistency is this team's problem. One game Mickey, Martin, and Quarterman look like 1st rounders, and the next game they look baffled by a zone defense or a double team. Maybe fatigue is causing the confusion or simple turnovers.

SEC records..
Appears that we've hit a plateau and will do no better than 10-8 or 11-7 with JJ.

Damn, that's an impressive observation after just 3 seasons... So what happens if they go 13-5 or something next year with some of the best recruits coming in?
i was just pointing out that people are quick to forget how much Trent ran this program into the ground when he was here, that doesn't excuse the underachievement this year.

How does everyone like those "style points" against Auburn now?

LSU was 9-9 1st year CJJ
LSU was 9-9 2nd year CJJ
LSU is 10-7 3rd year CJJ
A plateau would indicate little or no improvement.
This season has already been an improvement in record. It's also relative because the SEC is stronger than last season as a whole.
Point being, the book hasn't been closed yet to find a conclusion. Today's loss was terrible, but it's not the tell-all.
CJJ will certainly coach the rest of this season and gets all of next season as well. It's not a closed book.
