i watch almost every game in my shed via watch espn on a hard wired roku with 35mpbs. never buffers, always in hd. my only problem is i think i might have an anxiety problem from watching all the anxiety problem commercials!
SECN/SECN+ is quite possibly one of the greatest things ever to lsu sports outside of LSU's control. anyone can watch almost any game anywhere.

Whatever issues you had are they worse than hoping for someone at Justin's house (which has since burned down) to have it? ~2 years ago.
Or worse than maybe being able to find a radio feed to stream? ~5 years ago.
Or worse than waiting for the 6 nationally televised games. ~5+ years ago.
Watch ESPN and SEC network have exponentially increased the coverage of basketball and baseball to nearly 100 percent. I'm not going to complain about that.

No problem, I personally find its the best thing that's happened to LSU baseball.

Like some others, have UVerse 50 MBs download with ethernet cable to a good desktop and TV downstairs with a Firestick and it is normally very good, Saturday double header no issues. Sunday tuned in around 4th inning on the computer, got audio and no video. Rebooted, same, rebooted, same. Went and tried TV and it worked perfectly, that is weird shite and was using Firefox browser. I recall during the A&M series sometimes the picture would degrade and look foggy for a few minutes, then clear up. Checked the download speed this weekend and it was only 22 MBs or so due to weekend usage in the hood, but with ethernet cables that should be plenty. May have to go with the new 1 GB service at renewal but the internet speed/equipment is not the issue with WatchESPN.
And the loud arse repetitive commercials do blow.

I have Comcast cable internet and roku. The watchespn app had become unwatchable lately.
today Was the same shite with roku, but I tried the watchespn app on appletv, and it is working great. Everything else is the same, so roku and watchespn apparently don't work well together. Roku works great for Netflix, etc.
I don't use the appletv device much, but I guess I will now.

have a service team come out and replace them. They told him bring it in or he'll have to pay a service/installation charge for them to come out and do it. Total BS if you ask me.
Big reason I will never use Cox again.
Last time I had them I sat around for 3 hours and the install guy never showed up. When I called them they said he had showed up and I wasn't there, which was total horse shite. They wanted to charge me again to send someone out again when they never came the first time.

I know this is an older post but probably still an issue. AT&T tells me that if you have other devices up and running they draw from your overall internet speed capabilities. There is nothing I know of that is wrong with streaming multiple broadcasts but they apparently diminish the overall ability of the wireless capability to do so. It makes no sense to me if you have another computer elsewhere and an iPhone on the armrest of the chair doing nothing that they "draw" from the overall signal of your wireless connections. Personally, I think it is a cop out and the signal is not good enough that particular day across their lines. I usually just keep trying to reconnect but I honestly have little trouble with Uverse.

quote:This is the answer. The "alternate channel" that you see on your cable guide is actually just a place holder with little or no bandwidth dedicated to it (on most systems). When they actually do go live with this channel, your cable or satellite provider has to "steal" bandwidth from elsewhere to make it happen. The SEC could have asked for a full-time second channel, but that would have negatively impacted the revenue stream (ask the Pac-12 how their 2 channel approach has worked out). They will do it for football, and, on occasion, for men's basketball, but the rest of the time, it just isn't worth the expense.quote:It's not an actual channel. My assumption is ESPN has an agreement to pay the cable companies on a prorated basis when they have to use that channel. Something that isn't economical for a baseball game with 20,000 viewers. But is for a football game with 450,000.
Agree, if the channel is there, they need to put more games on the tv channel

I watched a good bit of nba playoffs on the watchespn app over the last week and have not had issues with buffering.
Yet i still have issues for LSU baseball games that are on SEC+, meaning they aren't on tv.
The ESPNU and SECN games are fine, it's the games that are on the internet only that i get the buffering issues.

I had a lot more buffering this weekend. The beginning of the season it was infrequent, now constantly pausing.
I also have good speed, up to date hardware.
I want to say it may be my firestick / app but it worked before.
SEC+ is great, but it needs to work better.
Eta. I'm in Houston.
