SEC umpire has postgame press conference to discuss the call

Of course he can’t admit the “judgement call” was the wrong judgement.
How about “he thought the catcher stepped on the plate but he didn’t.”

How about admitting that the initial call was OUT!
Like wtf? How do they come to the conclusion after the play is over that, of their own accord they would discuss and change the playcall 10 minutes later?
It was not challengeable or reviewable but they changed the play call anyway. That head of Umps sounded like a clueless dickhead.

Here he is signaling out as the players all walk off the field
So the options at this point since he didn’t make the judgement call on the spot
1) heard another field umpires view/judgement (how the frick would they be able to see Neal’s toe maybe being a millimeter in front of the plate) or
2) he replayed it in his head after the SC coach complained and he overturned his own judgment call minutes after the play which is completely asinine and ridiculous
If it’s not challengeable and judgement call why can they change their minds minutes later?
Umps deserve to be roasted and have to answer for it.

He was terrible the entire game.

What an absolute shite explanation. Fall back on your BS rule all you want but you still didn’t explain how you can call the guy out immediately in a judgement call and then come back 5 min later and overturn it. Just a bunch of pansy bullshite all around with that call. I’m kinda glad it happened now though because it just made the W that much sweeter

I thought you also couldn't change a judgment call. By definition, would that prove you don't trust the judgment?

That was the more angering part: his strike zone was non existent throughout the game. He was one of the worst we had all season.

The poetic part of this true statement is that Milam was screwed the most and he delivered the actual FU to that ump!

It was nice to see Milam serve justice on SC and the piece of shite officials.

The problem with this whole dispute is that the umps totally blew the judgment call. The head sec ump knows this and is trying to cover his arse.

Just one of many in the SEC.

Ball crosses plate just under Milam’s chin.
Ump: Strike

I don't know any umpire that would publicly question another's judgement call.

Maybe the SEC should stop outsourcing umpires to Venezuela and Taiwan! If you work your way all the way up to AAA, but never called get called up to the show, maybe that’s a sign!

No another umpire put the call out and they reversed it

Why not just say, "We thought we called it right at the time. We looked at the replay in the locker room afterwards and realized we messed up. That's on us."
That little statement is beyond blue here. Disgraceful.
