I find it impressive that you can remember stats like that...
I was very, VERY wrong about chinea last year when he was slumping early. He turned into our best hitter. Then he sucked it up in the post season. A poster or two wanted to call me out, rightly so, after the season and I brought up the post season stats. This was also part of my championing Zardon for pinch hitter or something to spark things like he did vs Texas A&M.

All that to say, it's not really by memory.

C'mon don't be obtuse. Chinea was not a defensive liability and Hale? I think he had proven his worth as a starter and hitter throughout his career. Plus, who were the back up options to those guys?

This is different. Pap is clearly better defensively and Romero is struggling a little at the plate.

'd have stuck with Romero, especially against the lefty. But I get it.

If he were only struggling at the plate, I'd agree, but he's been a liability offensively and defensively as of late so letting him sit is the right call IMO

Let him pinch hit if need be and hopefully a big hit could help him get his confidence back

CPM tried Chinea at several different positions to keep his bat in the lineup.

He can sit and get zen. Pretty sure his first clutchness was PH off the bench in the beginning of the season.
