No so fast my friend. Bama DBs were mugging USC receivers all night long and got away with most of it.

I agree completely.

I mean, I'm not naive. I realize that there's big money on the line and these games are "helped" along when needed, but do they have to be so obvious about it?

There's a big difference between missing a call and "missing" a call.

So, a conference would instruct its officials to be biased at ND in order to get its refs sent there again instead of being biased in favor of the team that stands to make them $17 million if it gets to a BCS bowl game? Right...

USC would be in a BCS game at the end of the day anyway...

and there is still a big battle behind the scenes to get ND in a FB conference

The ball-carrier is a full yard short of the first down line and based on the assumption of the original post, that UF was awarded the first.

Before you even say it:

- Yes, I know the yellow line is not the "official" indicator of a first down. However, I have never seen it a full yard off...
- Yes, I know that he could have had forward progress marked for a first down. However, judging by the complaining, this was not the case.

Actually, if you freeze frame the video at :07, you can see 6 players in the backfield. The left guard and tackle...by rule...are not allowed to be aligned with their helmet behind the centers shoulders. +5 in the backfield.

Illegal procedure. Florida does it all the time.

There's been a TON of assuming that is the case.

If you watch the video from the beginning of the series and note the original LOS, that's exactly what happened. CBS screwed the pooch on their video graphics.
The camera angle is way off the LOS, but it's about the 29 and the line to gain is about the 19. His progress was about the 19. They bring in the sticks, measure.....1st down.

FanTards have been going batshit crazy over an orange line that's in the wrong place.

If USC would have lost yesterday, and then Oregon runs the table, USC would not be in a BCS game.

I saw this BS spot, too, but it is no worse than any of the other utter BS calls at the end of that game.

Karma is going to catch up with the Gators/UM and I hope that I can just witness it.

If the SEC gets one team in a BCS bowl game, they will receive $17.5 million.

If the SEC gets two teams in BCS bowl games, they will receive $36 million.

If you think Florida and Bama aren't going to get the benefit of the doubt from SEC officials, you are sorely mistaken.

Interesting theory. How many times has the loser of the SECCG played in a BCS bowl?
