Sounds about right.

Did you see what Mississippi State did to Pittsburg? That's a team that beat us by 13 and we had Reed for that game.

SEC is damstrong in hoops this year.

I thought Pitt was supposed to be good?

Well yeah, LSU lost to them so our fans automatically think they’re a great team to justify the loss

That’s just a stupid thing to post.

Good basketball teams lose games and even get blown out at times.

Well Auburn lost so

I watched the Duke/Auburn game last night. Despite losing Auburn is in a different class than LSU. Both those teams are Final 4 level. The intensity, athleticism and lack of mistakes by both teams were very impressive. Duke had 4 turnovers and Auburn had 8. I would kill for LSU to only have 8 turnovers a game. And that kid Cooper Flagg for Duke is so good. He probably has the best foot work in college basketball right now.

A 6pt loss at Cameron, is hardly a bad look.
The speed and athleticism Auburn plays with and without the turnovers. They shot 40% from 3 and 83% at the line on the road

LSU is much improved but it may not show in the SEC record

Miss St is underrated. Did you see what they did to the Tigers last season-- beat LSU CONVINCINGLY TWICE, during a stretch when the Tigers were beating everyone else, including big upsets of Kentucky and S. Carolina.

We'll know what to expect from this team after its first two games, vs Vandy and @ Missouri, two teams about equal to LSU in projected strength.

I'm not exactly brisling with confidence after Reed's injury

so you’re saying 20. If the SEC is this good, the Quad 1 teams will be off the charts and as such the seeding will reflect it. I counted 23 winnable games for the season before it started. I’ll stick to that but I think it’ll be much harder. If they get to 19, I think they are a lock to get in. Just an opinion.
i think it depends how many sec teams the committee is willing to put in. I wouldnt feel great if we have 19 wins and are 12th in line in the sec to make the tourny

the level of investment in basketball since the SEC Network came about has been really impressive.

I am sure they were like “what if people watched our chances in January and February too?

Auburn in my opinion is the best team in the country, yeah they lost to Duke at Cameron but they just finished running a gauntlet of games against top tier teams. Bama is gonna get there, it starts off like this every year for them. Tennesse is as solid as they are every year. Miss state and Ole Miss are tough. Florida is flying under the radar and are really good. The surprise to me is Oklahoma, undefeated, really good coach, we will see thou,

I hate when people compare scores of common opponents, there is way more to it than point difference. Some styles of play contrast. Maybe Pitt just played poorly that night. Only a fool buys into that.

While I will NEVER trust Barnes in March, Tennessee could be slightly better than Auburn right now. No, Tenn. doesn't have the marquee wins Auburn has. But they are absolutely crushing opponents right now. They and Duke are the only two teams in the Kenpom top 10 both offensively and defensively. The fact that they are a really good defensive team is not a surprise. They almost always are. It's offense that has been their weakness in recent years. If (big if) this is truly a good offensive team then that will make them the most balanced team in the SEC. The last time they had that kind of balance was 18-19...which was probably Barnes's best team (even though they lost in the Sweet 16).

Usually by this point in the year you can start to see signs of some bad teams in the SEC. Ironically, it could be Arkansas who is near the bottom of the league

Hah, yeah now that he's playing on the same level as everyone else in recruiting let's see how he does. I imagine Worldwide Wes don't have the recruiting stroke he once did since NIL.
