Why do people keep comparing this virus to the flu. This is 10-15 times more deadly than the flu and preliminary tests show it spreads more easily and lasts outside the host for longer periods of time. We are paying the price for having this "like the flu" thought process for too long. Time to drop it. People much smarter than any one on this board or myself determined this is the best case of action. Lets try and listen to them.

The seasonal flu, even the swine flu, has a mortality rate of anywhere from .01-.03 percent. This virus is currently at 3.2%. Most experts would agree, due to lack of proper testing, that number will fall to somewhere between 1-2% when its all said and done. It doesn't take a genius to do the math from there. For over a month now people have been using the excuse "it's just like the flu". Our president himself and other elected officials underestimated the proper response to the virus in early to mid February. You are entitled to do and think what you please, but the statistics do no look good here. I have listened to some of the aforementioned Joe Rogan podcast with Dr. Michael Osterholm. It would be a good listen to people who are currently underestimating our current situation.

Yet when POTUS acted in February, he was called a racist by the same folks who are now saying he did nothing. So much so, that many are deleting their tweets from that time in order to assist the media with this narrative.
Fact is, no one knows the severity of it, period. Yet, here we are in phase 1 of testing a vaccine already. Fastest in history, yet that's not being reported. Why?

Once again, this isn't your buddy at work guessing. This is from people much smarter than you, with years of experience. Doctors and statisticians. They consider this virus unprecedented. But it seems like you have it all figured out. Where did you get your medical degree from?
