We have been hearing this line of Bull Schit for 40 years and it is no more true today than it was 40 years ago. Soccer is not popular in the USA and you Soccer fans can deal with that fact or not. It’s boring.
Moron. Come out from under your rock. No one thinks soccer is going to surpass football in popularity. You don’t need to get all defensive. No matter how many times you say this to yourself it doesn’t make it true.

See. Yet another Soccer nerd who gets offended by the truth. You nitwits are so personally wrapped up in Soccer but most aren’t. Get your panties out of a wad and deal with reality. Nobody said you can’t like the boring sport of Soccer but you can’t force people to like it either and most don’t and won’t.

Yeah rob62 definitely lost his wife or gf to a soccer player. I never played because no one in my family did and the club in my area was in its extremely early stages when I was a kid. I played football, basketball, and baseball. Since I didn’t play and there were no local teams I never followed it.
Now that my son plays it along with football, baseball, and basketball I’ve tried to follow it more closely and learn more about it. To me baseball and football are infinitely more boring than soccer. Most Americans just equate less scoring to less action/more boredom and have never taken the time to try to understand what’s going on. I was the same way at one time. I’ll still watch an LSU game over just about anything, but outside of that I’ll watch Leeds or the American team over any other college or pro game/sport.

You’re the only one who seems upset. You clearly don’t like soccer and that’s completely fine. Different sports appeal to different people, but denying the strides soccer has made in the US in the past 40 years just makes you look foolish

Why does soccer bother you so much? Just ignore it and let other people enjoy it. There are sports I don’t like, but I don’t spend time bashing them

As others have said, Title IX gutted many male sports. Men's soccer and wrestling are basically non-existent other than the occasional club team.
Generally women's sports are not as popular as men's.

I'd like to see you try to play soccer and when you pass out from the exertion, we'll see who is wearing the tampon.

I mean this is just completely false. Soccer has definitely grown significantly in popularity in the past 40 years. I don’t think it will ever become more popular than football or basketball, but to act like soccer hasn’t become more popular just makes you look like an idio
Soccer is currently the 4th most popular team sport for viewership in the US. I believe it is 3rd most played sport for children in the US. So yes this guy is an idiot.

Well don’t bring up a topic about WHY doesn’t the SEC support Soccer if you do not want answers. I am not bothered. My answers to the question apparently bother you and the other Soccer fans. I have stated the truth and some of are deflecting. I really do not care if you agree or not.

Yeah you are being creative with the information. The truth is that Soccer is on a major decline since 2008 (26% decline).
So here is some information for you.

What a bunch of red neck clowns. Mens soccer would catch on quickly. Louisiana high schools play and a number of these true student athletes end up play in other states !
We all know football is king but the sec should join the soccer WORLD

Nothing you’ve posted has even been remotely accurate.

That stat is just in regards to 6-12 year olds. Participation has actually increased in High School. You’ve made it clear you have some irrational hatred for soccer, but you’ve also made it obvious you know nothing about soccer in the US. Just look at MLS. The product still isn’t the best, but attendance has been steadily going up and they’ve been expanding all over the country. The US now has players playing for major clubs in Europe and has the most young talent they’ve ever had

In football, you have the downtime between plays. You get subbed out frequently. There is downtime when the offense is on the field. In competitive soccer, you are on the field basically until the half is over. You have to run constantly and be able to sprint over and over again. There is no comparison.
Again, I respectfully disagree. As I said, I love both sports and played both sports: football in high school at a 5A school and club, select soccer.
Football does have downtime between plays. You're right. You couldn't play the sport without it.
However, Soccer has its own downtime (ball is out of bounds, injuries, getting set up for a free kick etc.) Also, it's a very large field. Depending on the position, when the ball is at the other end, you are not running too much. Soccer, mainly, involves a lot of jogging with short, intermittent bursts. Cross country and certain track and field races are more difficult. In soccer, you simply aren't running at a 75% capacity the entire game.
That said, back to my original post, it really all depends on the position (in both sports) and scheme. Playing in the front 7 on defense vs. a wing-t or veer team is much more exhausting than playing soccer. It just is. Football is always played at full speed, soccer isn't. I've done both and am speaking from personal experience.

rob62, i highly doubt you have the gumption to say that to old man beasley’s face

Ole rob62 would have the gumption to tell any young whipper snapper that steps foot on his lawn to GTFO and turn down the damn music!!!!
He doesn’t have time for all the euro dance music while you watch soccer pal.
