If you don't think this occurs to some extent you are naive. My good friend got an extra pair of tickets in the north endzone in 2003 simply by calling his friend that worked in the ticket office. He called during the summer and asked his friend over the phone to find him 2 extra in NEZ and did the transaction over the phone. We laughed that we have other friends waiting to upgrade out of the upper deck but never will b/c of the "buddy system". Now I know lots have changed in terms of Priority point system since 2003 but I would not be surprised if this shite was still going on.

There was not a ticket waiting list through the athletic department in 2003. That didn't start until before the '05 season. So back in '03 you could call in and order them once they went on sale. There is no "buddy system", everything goes by your priority ranking.

I know a guy who is number 56 on TAF. He didn't even request extra tickets this year, but was called and offered 8 on the West 25 yard line in the bowl.

If this is true, then this is the kind of crap that pisses me off. They're going to sell the tickets to people who didn't even ask for them and then tell the rest of us that they couldn't fill our requests. Even if this guy didn't accept, some people will and it will ultimately reduce the amount available for those of us on the waitlist or seeking upgrades.

Those were usually held by student organizations. But with the band being moved, everything else moved over, freeing up the seats that were normally $18 for a student now to big time donors paying a countribution/tradition fund and full price of ticket.

Are you the guy I bought Alabama tickets from last year off of ebay?
If so, I was glad to get them, but I had one extra at that $200 price that I couldn't sell for $100 at the game, and enjoyed the extra room.
