That 50 50 thing is complete bs. There will be games that will require more passing in order to score points and win. For example, you're not beating Alabama at 50 50. You're probably not going to defeat Florida or A&M with 50 50. The statement about 50 50 is very stupid. I'd be pleased if I never heard it again from any coach's mouth.

It's really pretty simple. You even explained it. What they mean is that they want to be able to run or pass, according to what the defense gives them; or just to stay balanced and unpredictable.
If the defense is set to stop the run, you have to be able to pass, and vice versa. If the defense is neutral, then the play-calling has to be balanced.
They're coaches, not grammarians.

Agreed. Smacks of a coach that can't form their own ideas about offense.

Probably 4 or 5 of those runs were pass calls that turned into scrambles. And then it might be that Clemson ran the clock out with some running plays.

Yessir! I want to hear him say we're going to be multiple and unpredictable on offense, that Brady and the OC will be watching and adjusting as we go and have our QB pick the play that gives us the best chance to beat the defense on that particular down. Or say nothing at all; instead just SHOW US. Saying we want to be 50 50 doesn't give me any confidence whatsoever that we've evolved into a multiple, cutting edge offense.

Scrimmage Report...Here’s the lowdown from the scrimmage.Posted on 8/17/19 at 6:13 pm
1992
Here’s the lowdown from the scrimmage.
-More of the same from my post last week. The offense is still going up tempo and wide open. Went 5 wide a few times and kept the tempo going.
-Burrow looked okay and Myles looked okay. Myles did however throw a god awful interception in the red zone in third down. Brady and Ensminger lit him up for it.
-Myles is a bit of a feast or famine at the moment. He turns it over but also has some highlight reel throws too.
-Trey Palmer caught a bomb from Myles for about 60 yards.
-Jamar Chase is that dude right now. Watching him and sting go at it reminds me of Pat and Julio back in the day. He just so damn strong and quick. He’s a stud.
- Clyde is the best back right now. He understands the game and the blocking schemes and how to get yards against college defenses. Emery and Ty still tend to bounce it a bit too much but they’ll learn. Both of them are Uber talented.
- Emery bounced one and took it for about 60 yards and Ty ran the ball really well.
- Racey Mcmath had a great day today but he’s been playing well all camp this coming from the players. He’s been quietly doing very well.
-Sting is the punt returner and jamar has returned kicks. He’s super explosive.
-The d line did a very good job. Lawrence made some really nice plays today.
-About half of the six sacks probably weren’t real but 3 were for sure.
-Kenan Jones came down from his safety spot and played backer in one blitz package and got the sack. He’s another super athletic guy.
-The offensive line had a much better day. They had a lot of guys back and were able to pound the rock a lot more this week. Charles and Deculus looked good.
-Cade York is the real deal. We will see if he can do it in game but he’s got a great leg.
-Overall, the whole team looked better. Defense won some, offense won some. Both sides went at it and it was good to see. The depth can be a little concerning in some spots but hopefully these younger guys develop and are ready by midsession.
TALON-Well then it looks like GSU is in good shape for the game!

And it might be Clemson ran enough to keep Bama honest. No sacks was huge too.
And if memory serves Clemson three it down the field. They didn’t dink and dunk much.

Zach Line was a strong RB at SMU. OVER 4,000 Yards Rushing in his career & 47 TD's. He could easily carry the ball 10 times per game to give Kamara/Murray a breather.
Yeah I do like having a FB who can carry it some.
The poster who talked about offensive trends going in cycles was right; they key is to not blindly follow them.
Seems like “no fullback” is just a knee-jerk reaction to people’s frustration with CLM offenses.

Tory Carter, although listed as a TE, would likely be sent to FB in any formation that would require one. There are others that could be used as well. Will be interesting to see what we do when it's goal to go from the 2.

I just watched Line and Watt make significant impacts on two of the best teams in NFL.
We want a “pro” offense. That’s a combination of spread and power concepts. Different personnel groups. Quarterbacks reading the whole field.
Not Mickey Mouse one-read HUNH crap.

Great scouting report! I’m so pumped for the first game I can’t wait.

But I wasn't referring to ONLY Alabama. Florida gives us fits, MSU gives us trouble (at least our offense, not our defense). So we're making a change to combat that, and you're against it because we used to score against these teams?? Weird.
We're not going HUNH here. We're not going Air Raid. Y'all wanna talk about our I formation 2 TE and a FB offense, name the team that runs that shite that has beaten Bama in the last several years. None.
It takes more creativity and making their defense actually run and cover the whole field to beat them. Or we could go back to the Miles offense and score a few on em and be happy about it.
I'd prefer doing something to beat them.

I never said I thought we WERE running that. I said I didn’t want us to go in that direction.
