You do know he had a job before Texas A&M right?

So they have unlimited money and can pay him whatever, and they haven't won a hit in 15 yrs besides track

Tell me again why we would want to bid for him?

Seems very meh

It’s great when people have no clue what they’re talking about but they’re hopelessly over confident anyway.

seems to think he doesn't really want to come home because of the politics in Louisian

Several posters have talked about this and him not wanting to deal with LA politics. Y’all do realize that the major part of his job in the AD when he worked here before was politics. He handled all of the government affairs. When you operate in that world, you thrive on it and learn how to navigate it so well that it doesn’t bother you.

In fact, even with Woodward being gone for as long as he has; I would venture that he probably still has more deep political connections than even F. King has. So even though F. King would technically be his boss, Woodward would undoubtedly have a lot of autonomy if he took the job.

Elections matter unfortunately. Edwards will not get rid of F King.

I don’t think Woodward will come if F King is here. I hope I am wrong.

It's also nice when people have no educated response and just post some vague fricking retort that elaborates on exactly nothing.

Tell me what is so great about aTm, especially in reference to championships, to here we need to be in some idiotic bidding war with them.

Interesting you picked 15 instead of 10.

He's only been the AD at A&M for a little under 2 years. In that time he hired the coach many HERE wanted. That aside, when he became the AD at Washington their football program was in the gutter 0-12 in 2008. He hired Steve Sarkisian for his first HC job. Within 5 years Sark brought Washington from the absolute bottom of college football to a 9 win team. He then was able to get Petersen to leave Boise after nearly 15 years at the school and great success. That move eventually paid off in a playoff appearance...something unfathomable in 2008 when he took over. Plus, the overall standing of the Washington athletic department went up during his tenure.

He's a BR native and LSU grad. He's been a lobbyist in this state and worked in the LSU athletic department and with the (now) head of the NCAA, Mark Emmert. There may not be anyone more suited for the LSU job.

Yet, LSU continues to bumble on under an AD whose most noteworthy achievement before coming to LSU was screwing the Duke lacrosse team. Since here, he's hired two HC's who quite literally, no other power conf school in America wanted and helped orchestrate a great PR failure with his first failed coup to fire Miles

You don’t deserve an educated response when you can’t take 30 seconds to type his name into a search and quickly glance at his resume. I’ll give you one hint, he hasn’t been at A&M for 15 years and that is the basis of your entire post.

How many championships has his college won in any sport while he was at the helm?

C'mon. Washington made huge strides, at least in football, including a playoff appearance. He hasn't been at A&M long enough but has already hired an elite, championship caliber coach. Woodward would be a homerun hire.

Hmmmm, let's talk about why Peterson was needed yo be hired...tell me about Sark
Washington was very good for many years before 08, but yes, were down in 08 timeframe

Because his other coach was hired by USC. You’re awful at this game.

Why would he work here??? The NegaTigers will question every decision he ever makes and turn on him the second that he doesn't do exactly what THEY THINK he should do!

Petersen was hired because Sark left to go to USC...after his best season at Washington. His coach took a better job and the replacement he hired was even better than the first coach.

And 2008 wasn't just an aberration. It was the worst of 6 straight losing seasons for a once proud program. The turnaround at Washington was great.

Woodward's two jobs prior to A&M saw great turnarounds in their football programs while he was there...LSU and Washington
