If Woody doesn't handle the NIL situation we are going to start losing and firing coaches. That will be the end of Woody eventually. I doubt he plans on letting that happen.

It won't. There are literally no rules. None.

This is exactly why I believe that it could. I don't think it will backfire because of anything to do with the rules, the NCAA was becoming increasingly irrelevant BEFORE this.

The issue is human nature. If a player goes to a school for money, that is something that will get them there, but not necessarily something that will keep them there. And if they can be bought by one school, they can be bought by another the following year and with the transfer rules there is nothing to stop it. The bigger issue, however, is the team itself. How is the chemistry going to be in that locker room if you have one guy making close to a million, some other guys making over $100k and a bunch of other guys getting nothing but scholarship? And you think that NFL rookies have problems dealing with suddenly getting all of that money when they go to the NFL? How about a totally unprepared teenage college freshman? No, this will be a shite show and I'm fascinated to see how it all plays out.

Here's a hard and cold fact - - No NIL, no WIN
Make a decision.

There are systemic issues with the way LSU is currently handling NIL that I won't get into.

Why, exactly?

We have a "parody" now, what we need is parity. Can't rely on the NCAA for that.

Do we even have a charity fund that people can donate to that would go to players as NIL yet? If we do it sure isn't getting much publicity. That is the easy way to at least get some NIL money rolling in from people that aren't business owners but can afford to donate and want to help out. That is one of the ways Texas and Texas AM are doing it from what I saw.

NIL isn’t the problem. NIL isn’t doing anything but shining a light on the way college recruiting has always been done. It’s always been done this way and it always will be done this way. Get used to it or follow another sport (I don’t recommend college basketball if paying players bothers you btw)

The problem is the portal and the never ending rotation of players it brings. You have a chance at curbing that. You have no hope at ever stopping players getting paid.

You just create a “nonprofit” or slush fund for NIL and have TAF conveniently donate money to help. It’s not that freaking hard
You set it up and make the first convenient donation. Everyone else will follow I swear.

Good for Woodward. NIL is lunacy that will kill college football.

Why can’t we just give these kids a bunch of cash like we have for the last 120 years? This NIL crap is too damn complicated. I liked it better when moms and dads got great paying jobs and the player got a briefcase full of money.
