The crap is piling up quickly, let's see how we weather the storm. I have confidence in SW, do you?

We’ll see. We overpaid Pelini. And he grossly overpaid Jimbo at A&M. Waiting to see more before calling him a great AD. He may be, but it’s still early.

100%

Vast majority of people thought Pelini was a good hire, especially on this board.

Now they're all claiming it was a terrible hire. It's pitiful. If the hire doesn't work out, Scott will fix it. Dude does what it takes to win.

No, but I don't trust any position where the power is that robust.

That was, even admitted by A&M fans, the A&M boosters giving him $100m and saying go get him, we don't care how much it costs.

That wasn't Woodward clawing for his guy and lobbying to give him more money.

Remains to be seen. His main credential when he was hired was being part of the Baton Rouge good ole boy network. He left a shitshow behind him at A&M. I don't know why so many considered him to be a home run hire.

He has done zip. This misplaced confidence is as bad as the misplaced anger at the former AD.

Yes. The defense has been horrible and I have been pretty critical of Pelini but I can acknowledge that things can improve. When u consider the turnover, shortened preparation, etc, I think it’s possible that the d will catch up and begin to play sound football. That’s what I hope anyway. It’s not like he will be fired mid season and that’s not the best move anyway so this is where we are. Not sure what has happened to make people question Woodward tho.

I kinda get overpaying. But I don't at all get over padding the buyout. Pellini's buyout should have been squat.

How is it a shite show? I love to take a shot at aggie if I can but he hired the guy that everyone wanted. Including us. I know it’s a shite load of money but I don’t think they would do anything differently. They have always had the resources minus the accolades. It’s not like Jimbo is ruining some championship caliber program. They are still buildibg. Aggies best days as a program are still in front of them. Buzz williams is also a good coach. Thought they were pretty happy with him. Maybe he’s a little loose with the check book but he makes moves. Shooters shoot and all that

The AD’s decision making shouldn’t be compared to people on an anonymous message board. The hiring of Pelini is one thing but the contract and buyout is crazy considering your only competition was Youngstown St.

Jimbo may be overpaid, but it isn't necessarily SW's fault.
When BIG boosters say go get him, at any cost, and we will take care of the salary, then you pay the man. He was probably following orders which would make him a great AD.

Yeah I think (hope) his best work is ahead of him. Pelini’s contract sucks. I do like how SW has handled the Will Wade stuff. He has come in and backed Wade from the start. Other than that the best thing he has going for him is that he’s not Joe Alleva

What choice did he have? The HC just won a NC. That means the guy pretty much gets what he wants at that time. He wanted Pelini, no one else, and that meant that Pelini had the leverage.

We control the purse strings. And what other options did Pelini have?

We actually had the leverage, didn't use it, and gave Bo a massive contract when no one else was in the bidding.

I would not want to have Scott Woodward’s job right now. He has an unfolding disaster on his hands between COVID-19, a tanking football team, and a head coach who is all over the Internet with a young bimbo girlfriend. It’s our hope LSU football can keep it together and make a good showing these next two months. It’s critical.

And that’s excluding basketball.

Blame O for wanting Pelini. Pelini doesn’t get paid a dime if O didn’t want him.
