It’s on Woodward’s resume’ that he hired TWO football coaches who failed
I don't like Woodward, but what do you think the success rate is for ADs hiring head football coaches?
It's far from an exact science like you're trying to make it out to be. It's the buyouts that are the biggest issue.

And he’s still light years ahead of where you are in life. How sad.

Yep and don’t waver on that no matter what these clowns in here tell you! Believe one thing, no prominent school will hire Woodward after those two hires he made but these idiots will try to convince people oh its not his fault he sighed Jimbo to a 10 year deal even though he initially brought him to Texas A&M. Let’s just focus on the extension. Lmao Morons in here I swear.

To not see the initial 10 year contract also puts blame on Woodward makes you the Fkn idiot not me
The fact that you can’t understand the term of the contract is not the issue, is just baffling

Do you think another program gives two shits that the gig behind him gave Fisher the extension
If they operate in reality, unlike you apparently, I’m sure they would put stock into the facts of what actually happened

I don't care who he hired at other schools.
Posted on 10/27/25 at 3:51 pm to im4LSU
He’s the one that hired Jimbo there in the first place moron, it’s on his resume’ forever that he made TWO terrible hires. Forget the extension and buyout for a minute! He’s the one who hired both! Period!!!!!

Should be an auto-ban for anyone that keeps mentioning this... the TAMU AD AFTER Woodward signed Jimbo to an extension resulting in the huge buyout
Woodward would have also given him that extension considering he hired him to a massive contract. It’s so weird that people are still defending Woodward. He’s a clown show

Yes, but the original contract Woodward inked with Jimbo was just as absurd. $75 million...all of it guaranteed. Jimbo could have went winless at A&M, and he would still be owed every penny of $75 mil.

Anyone who denies the fact his INITIAL contract was still 10 years
Link the posts of people denying that.
Jimbo wasn't far removed from a NC and A&M had the financial resources to give him what he wanted. Woodward did his job.

Agreed but isn’t he also responsible for hiring Kim and jay as well as the gymnastics coach. Can’t win every time sometimes it takes more than once to pick the right coach.
Posted on 10/27/25 at 3:53 pm to tigersquad89
Agreed! He’s just a nerd that wanted to be an AD. Dude has never been a coach either.

I'm pretty sure the term of the contract affects the amount of the buy out
In terms of the actual amount of the installments, sure. But not the overall buyout that again, was given out 5 years into the contract by another AD

Jimbo Fisher’s initial contract was 10 years
The ten years isn't the problem. The fact that every penny was guaranteed whether he won, lost, or showed up to work...that's what makes that contract so terrible.
Posted on 10/27/25 at 3:57 pm to geaux99
And Woodward’s initial contract had the same terms!

Jimbo Fisher’s initial contract was 10 years! He should have never gotten that deal!
Every LSU fan wanted Jimbo at the time.
quote:Well the extension is the "worst contract of all time" you're referencing.
Idgaf about the extension!
Also, you are aware that Woodward had a huge hand in getting Saban here, right?

Why are ppl saying Kelly was a bad hire. Name 1 coach with a better resume lsu could’ve hired?
Posted on 10/27/25 at 3:58 pm to sarussell01
Yeah a 10 year deal at top dollar is beyond stupid and he did it twice. That kind of a golden parachute takes away incentive to do well if the the worst case scenario is 50+ million to go away.
