Here’s the real outrage: FKA being LSU president instead of in prison.

It’s a long read, backed by a LOT of documentation.
Maybe Scott read it and knows who he’s dealing with.

THUG the book-FKA is a phony and criminal

Does this mean we can start setting funds aside for bag men and outbidding Bama on Chargers for recruits? I'm all in if so.

tbh though, what he said isn't wrong. you have serious problems if you need the athletic department to survive. how many other universities are bound together academic and athletic departments? find your own way out of the hole and let the athletics do their thing.

Called silo information and only listening to what you want to listen to because it validates everything you think is correct. Facts be damned.

I'm not sure how anyone can argue against Woodward's case in these comments he made. The university is in major trouble if it relies on the athletic department to keep chugging along.

We have the best athletic director, don't we folks?

He's the Donald Trump of athletic directors....gives zero fricks and just does his job.

The Reddit thread in r/cfb about this is absolutely hilarious.

Shout out to a couple of TD posters I saw in there doing work

As somebody who supports LSU through thick and thin - above ANY political nonsense, this is the right thing to do.

Athletics are not meant to subsidize academics. Yes the state legislature needs to step up and do its job. Yes Jindal tried to LSU and it will take decades to fix it. But LSU has to be fixed the right way - not patched up with profits from football.

Good - I hope athletics donates as much as makes sense each year but hated it being a policy. Clearly created some ‘enablement & entitlement’ issues.

Except Woodward is actually good at his job and is accomplishing something.

And I have a feeling that… in both places I’ve been (Texas A&M and Washington), on average they give 1.5 times more to the academic side. I’m sure that’s the case here.

That isn't the case though. LSU is one of the only school where private donations for the AD exceeds donations for the university itself.

The ancient Greeks were somehow able to teach in the great outdoors under the trees. It is not buildings that make a University great but the quality of the teachers and researchers it is able to attract, which of course has a lot to do with the salaries paid.

I imagine you'd also be able to attract better teachers and researchers with better buildings and support. You know, competing with other universities which LSU is not able to do right now.

When the Governor and and school president hold a press conference to tell everyone how broke the school is, that we will no longer have money to fund projects, and that you, the citizen, are responsible for fixing the problems in the form of higher taxes, what do you expect?

How do you suppose LSU does that without relying on private donations earmarked for specific athletic projects?

That’s Not what he’s saying!! He’s saying the system needs restructuring.. they committed to give 34 M but the university hit them for 50M as I understand... any he’s saying this won’t be sustainable for the athletic department to continue to do !!

I never understood why Alleva voluntarily gave them more than what was required. And I'd love to see where that money actually went.

This is a ballsy move to make this announcement right now. Seems as if Woodward has run out of Fs to give. All the complaining and gnashing of teeth about the new locker room and now this, lmao.

This could be huge. LSU athletics has been pretty damn good but it seems like they're picking up a lot of momentum. And LSU football is probably about to begin another golden age.

Put out a strong statement reiterating that the athletics department is totally self funded, contributes heavily to the university, and should not be criticized for using private donations as their donors intended.

Spot on. It's hard to understand why this did not happen. He just let's the university name get dragged through the mud.

You have to rip the band aid off. It is not his fault the media and the usual suspects prefer to push an agenda instead of actually listening to what he said.

Why isn’t the University coming out and saying this? They could just as easily release a statement in support of the AD. Why haven’t they?
