I never thought i would see a more dominant defensive player and playmaker than Michael Brooks he was incredible and had a knack for making the big game changing play but as great as he was Mathieu did even more than Brooks in only 2 years. I could only imagine him out there with the 2012 defense for his last year!

I love Adams for the Tigers. Bonafide stud, he's a playmaker, and will play a huge part in the team's success.

But there is simply no one like Mathieu. He has the best instincts I've ever seen in a defender. Dude was a gamechanger (and still is when healthy) and was worth at least 7-10 points on his own. Unreal the natural ability he possesses

Not as good as Mathieu, but make no mistake, Adams is a beast.

There really is no way to exaggerate what Matheiu did out there.

If you made the next Marvel movie, and decided to let Spiderman play safety, you could take standard game footage of Matheiu in that 2011 season, and it would fit just fine. And people who didn't know any better would assume "yeah, that's just the movies. Nobody could ever really do that sort of stuff. I mean, one or two of those plays would be the highlight of a career, and he's making 5 or 6 plays a game like that. Total fantasy!"

He isnt.

I will say this, anytime you are being compared to Pro Bowl player in the NFL even as a "Maybe" and your still in college, that means you are a beast plain and simple. If you have to think about it instead of laugh about it, then there is something to it and Adams might not be better than the badger but you have to think about it and that says a lot. He is going to be a hell of a pro some day.

He absolutely should have won the Heisman that year. No one had an impact on his team's games like he did. Best player in the country is right.

I've never seen a defensive player with a nose for the football like he had. It was uncanny.

look........we all love JA but comparing him to TM7 is just stupid. The badger was all galaxy/all time. the only player I have ever seen in my lifetime that I can compare his electricity to is Barry Sanders and Michael Jordan

JA can be 1st team all-american this year. Thats nothing to hang your head about.

Adams is probably better than Laron Landry and maybe better than Eric Reid, but the HoneyBadger will never be replicated. Adams is a baller though.

When you're hyping an LSU player and LSU fans are telling you that you're way off, you know your statement is false.

Adams is a really good player. TM was in a league of his own.

Tyrann Mathieu may be the best defensive player of all time. Adams, while extremely good at his position, isn't in the same conversation with Tyrann. That's not a knock on Jamal, that is how good Tyrann was and is.

Mathieu made every big play there was to make in 2011. It was really incredible.

In 26 career games at LSU, he had 11 forced fumbles (four better than all-time LSU career record - in only two years). I've been a little surprised that he's only had 2 forced fumbles in 40 NFL games.

I like everything about Adams. He was easy to notice as a freshman and continues to make plays. I expect even bigger things out of him this year.

TM was so dominant, he forced a fumble on Dottie Hinson.

TM7 was also a better basketball player than most in the NBA include Lebron James

but comparing just on the defensive side, does he finish with a better year than Mathieu's last? In my opinion he can.

If he can single-handedly turn the momentum of several games, then yes. It's a VERY tall order.
