I hate all the motion before offensive plays but they do much better and the penalties are down.

I don't get your negativity to Coach O. I really really liked coach Miles also but his lack of ability to adapt to modern offenses were his undoing and loyalty to Cameron. It was just time to move on. Accepting coach O does not mean you are being disrespectfull to coach miles.

We've only beaten one team with a winning record:

Auburn 9-2
Ole Miss 5-6
Florida 4-6
UT-K 4-7
Arkansas 4-7
Syracuse 4-7
BYU 3-9
UT-C 3-8

since the troy game, lsu has outscored the opponents 93-44 in the 2nd half. in the football world, that is undeniably, incontrovertibly good coaching, 100%. canada and aranda are making adjustments, the players understand them and execute them.

Ranked 93rd in passing
this is largely because of what miles left behind. huard was even acknowledging it saying canada is going to run the ball because that's the personnel he was given. so bringing up this stat isn't really helpful. it's basically asking canada to make his players be something they aren't, which is dumb.

and people are criticizing o for the troy loss without acknowledging the clear and obvious progression of the team.

missing context here. let's face it, state is a really solid team. usf is having their best season ever and they're pretty darn good. heck, troy might end up a 10 win team. in contrast, lsu is still ranked where these teams are despite a new head coach, o coordinator and some very specific, well documented personnel challenges. this is lsu "down" and tigers can still win 10 games. the question is whether the tigers will go "up."

there has been little to no difference in the outcome. one can point to process, football philosophy, or make excuses for the coaches, but it is a distinction without a difference so far

O said he was going to pass the ball about 50% of the time, he said he would play action pass frequently on 1st down, this has not happened. they have Cadillac receivers that they cannot get the ball to, languishing on the bench.

I always hope LSU wins every game. I don't care what the coaches name is, just that they win. Deferring to "next year" is what is dumb. Championing mediocrity is what is dumb.

A win is a win and it's great. But if Tenn had not fumbled the two punts and mishandled their kickoffs so poorly, it could have been a very different game. Tenn out-gained LSU. It was not an impressive win, albeit still a win.

I hope O wins every game, as I have since he was hired. The performance this year has been about the same as under Miles and could have been better given the talent on the team... which is why the change was supposed to have been made in the first place. jmo

those aren't excuses. they are reality. and teams quite often struggle during transition years. the point is lsu had some specific challenges regarding the roster and the staff yet still came away with a chance for 10 wins.

people keep acting like this means something. it's quite common for the losing team to have more yardage or whatever. it doesn't mean anything because the scoreboard is what counts. also, nevermind the fact that the weather conditions were very, very rare.

there's a group of people in this thread who just can't acknowledge the context of the situation. they're looking at the negative only. i am terribly disappointed that lsu couldn't have gotten a brand name coach but to not give the staff credit for handling what miles left over is just biased.

I agree, but to a lot of people it sure did mean something in the moral victory on 11/4.

I really hope we keep Canada. A QB with some talent will really open his offense up and I would hate our team to have to learn a new system.

At least you’re admitting it. We fired Miles and have taken a step back. It was obvious with the hire. Can O take a step forward and go where we want to be? I don’t think so. Doesn’t make me not a fan. I pull for the Tigers every snap of every game. I hope we get there but I don’t see it at all.

"transition years"

what? oh so it's not wait till next year, it's wait "years" down the road. ok got it. how many "years" is it going to be by the way?

I already addressed this point guess your "bias" was not to read the content. oh and yes I am biased. towards winning.

so the good receivers are not languishing on the bench? I guess 93rd in passing offense is what you consider fully utilizing the receivers, ok I get it again. yeah that is real funny!

the point about Tenn out-gaining LSU is that the game was much closer than the score, that's not so difficult to comprehend is it? again it was not an impressive victory.

and again since I stated it in the thread you responded to, I don't care who the coach is, just that he is competent. this is objective analysis. some people are just too sensitive to handle it

O has not done what he stated he would do regarding the offense. He stated himself that he mishandled the offensive line situation, he stated himself that he meddled in the coordinators plans

there were missed opportunities this year. THIS YEAR.

It is so refreshing not having cluster moments not getting the plays down to the offense from the box, time mismanagement issue, players doing the Meer cat prior to snapping the ball etc...

The thing is that every year of him running his own program has been marred by major mistakes on his part, self inflicted at that. What confidence can anyone have that he's going to put together one good year of coaching?

Is not the ‘style of play’ all about the coaching? How is it not? Splitting calories?
