I agree... his versatility to play pretty much any position in the backfield would've been very nice to have but oh well.. the haul in the 18' class could help ease the pain but damn this sucks

I wish him luck, but is it a condition of every transfer out of LSU that they have to praise the coaches, mention that LSU's fans are the best, talk about what an honor it was to wear the purple and gold before saying peace out? The way they set it up, it makes you ask why the hell they are transferring.

why??

Damn WHY NOT?

1)Let me see we have a new offensive coordinator that is creative for the first time since jimbo.
2)We have breath of fresh air at coach that gets on his players and expects 100% all in end or you don't play.
3) No more coach that was so stubborn to change his offense even when everyone in the nation knew what was coming.
4) O gets it he hired Great Coordinators which he didn't have at ole piss.
5) Halftime adjustments yes we make those now.

frick all you guys that have already doomed Coach O before he has even coached 1 full season as Head coach. I am more excited now then I have been in along time. Les is gone so

Good! We are DBU. You don't get there and stay there by having weak links stay. Whatever made him "weak ", we may never know, but he isn't a strong enough candidate and decided to bolt and QUIT.

Mom and dad? You're supposed to be growing into a man...geez

The truth is, few people, and that includes almost everyone on this board, has any idea as to why Smith is transferring.
It's all speculation @ this point…

You do know what IMG is, right?

That's not a history of transferring. That is an opportunity to develop.

The other side of that coin is he may have reached his ceiling early.

That is interesting and may shed some light on why he is transfering.

From a football perspective, this doesn't make sense. Hope he leaves on good terms, goes to junior college, and comes home.

This is not the point of this thread by any means, but if you think that Ed Orgeron was a better hire than Tom Herman or Jimbo Fisher, then you have been manipulated by Joe Alleva.

Lol you guys those guys were not coming here anyway. Sorry arse fans we have. We got a new head coach finally and even before his first full season it's already doom and gloom.

I highly doubt this has anything to do with O. Could be nothing more than him wanting a fresh start. Wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at Miami tho if he doesn't go juco for the year

This happens to Alabama every year. We'll be fine at DB. Every year we sign the best DB's in the country. People get attached to these kids because they were 5* in high school but the best are going to play. I think LSU knows what they're doing when it comes to DB.
