Seems to me this is primarily Ole Miss, Alabama, Tenn. and, for some reason UF. . I see others think Texas is involved, but i have not seen evidence of that, but would like to hear more about it.

Forced by whom?
I don’t think this is making him unpopular with the other schools.
This is like the Saints fans wanting Roger Goodell fired. It’s not going to happen. Not as long as the SEC keeps signing huge television contracts which they will do thanks in no small part to LSU.

I don't know. The B1G is getting around $300M a year more from their TV rights package than the SEC is. Why couldn't Sankey get the SEC a comparable media rights package value? And those deals were signed around the same time and the SEC was the dominant conference at the time, but still got far less money.

That doesn't mean they won't let him burn when he falls on his arse again.

Sankey is a pimp but he has rallied the SEC Presidents and Chancellors to make this a defining case to establish authority and control over eligibility, etc.
That's the whole point of all of this mess. The NCAA is incapable via rules so the SEC's lawyers have used the "we're a voluntary organization whose members agree to abide by our rules". Further, we have the freedom of association with those whom we wish to be a part of our organization.
(or something along those lines).
They have us by the shorts hairs.

Agree…. follow the politics on this. Every Governor in the SEC except Kentucky has an R behind their name. They all attend events (think RGA) several times a year. They all pick the boards that govern the state schools (as in LSU BOS). They are all very friendly. No way will ANY of those governors let there schools vote LSU out. Stay tuned

That would be what I call a career limiting move by Sankey.
