Like Kelly said by the letter of the law it was probably correct, but it doesn’t explain why the law was completely ignored last week.

It sure felt that was. Total bullshite. I’m glad BK took a public shot at them for it.

Realistically, Sam’s only other option was to dive out of the play. The letter of the law be damned in that circumstance.

The feel of the play and then the call was like they’ve had been looking for an opportunity all game and finally said frick it let’s use this one.

Yeah it was a call from the booth. There was no flag. You know they had to be watching every play with a microscope.

That was never noticed unless you were on a mission looking for it. If you don't believe that you are a fool.

I just can’t understand that if these calls are for safety reasons and to protect the player why is it never called on the offense player that gets lowand puts his helmet straight into a defender to run over them?

Why was it not targeting on the offensive player? He lowered his head into Sam’s.

It was 100% a message. That was a we call penalties, not you, so shut up. I think that entire game was setup to be that way. It wouldn’t surprise me if they tipped off Florida too letting them know they could get away with late hits, etc.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get the message. I am thinking A@M will be bad.

It was like a phantom hold where if you play it in slow mo you could see a slight jersey tug, while in reality you could call it every play.

I could give you 5 more ejections on each team if I went back and rewatched every second level tackle by each team.

The issue is what was discussed, completely ignoring a more blatant one against bama that actually affected the game (best player taken out).

Both plays were targeting according to the rules.

Specifically against a weak position group with minimal depth and taking out the most experienced player. It was a sham.

Also this

The runner was the aggressor here. Unless you want to create an entire new drill where a defender stands his ground and you constantly raise and lower a helmet while the DB avoids I don’t know how you plan to stop this

We should just teach our RBs to match the defenders level every run and 12 plays into the game will be playing the second team D

You do know they all have the same handshake right?

If they were both targeting, why was only 1 deemed targeting and reviewed? It just happens to be the one on a not defenseless player that wasn’t even to the head?

Absolutely. The SEC office is and has been hopelessly corrupt for as long as I’ve paid attention to such things.
