Goodbye buck fiddy Milazzo. Hello Tree Fiddy McManus.

The defense from Milazzo is unbeatable, but if can't put up a performance hitting then it's someone else's starting position
Alex is a beast on defense but didn’t he finish the season like 1-28
Simply can’t be that bad
At least be disciplined enough to get on base via some walks
He was helpless up there

This guy is coming in to fill another role. DH perhaps? Wasn’t even the primary catcher at Samford. Doubt he’ll supplant Milazzo
Lol

If we fill in the bottom of the order with 2 live bats and Milazzo could hit at least.230 you keep him for defense alone. People need to realize throwing out a guy at 2nd with less than 2 outs is likely saving a run.
The rant sometimes doesn’t realize what we had till it’s gone.

It would be great to hold onto either Moller or Jensen at C.
Jensen is shooting up drsft boards though and I worry someone will fall in love with Mollers Power, he has slid a bit though

It’s not steals I’m worried about but passed balls. Can’t find that info on McManus

Milazo's career stats are 19 for 32. Assuming those numbers are accurate, that's 60%.

Agreed. If we have 4 elite hitters in Berry, Morgan, Crews, and Doughty, and another 3 above average then you absolutely keep defense first players at C and SS. The potential of this team is at its highest with Milazzo in the lineup but that will require Johnson to teach him how to hit at least .230

I think these people severely overrate Milazzo importance to the team. For every saved run, he probably cost the team three at the plate.
A guy like this isn’t transferring to split time or play DH. He is coming to play every day and every inning.

What’s your objection to Milazzo? No doubt you have a history of shitty takes, but with a little coaching I don’t see how a great defensive catcher hitting .240+ is out of the question for him

How should we expect this to translate to SEC big boy ball?

Do you enjoy balls going to the backstop? Pitchers not having the confidence to spike one?

I’m sorry, I don’t consider this some noteworthy talent. Any half decent D1 catcher can do this.

I gotcha. I didn’t look up Milazzos individual numbers just the team numbers

He had the lowest batting average of any LSU starter over the last 30 years. What are you talking about, what is my objection? This is frickin LSU. Not charity baseball U.
Y’all told me he wouldn’t lose his job this past year and they were so desperate for some offense at catcher that they forced another .150 hitter into the lineup to try & make up for it.
He was that bad. He only kept playing at the end of the year because Travinski got hurt.
They aren’t bringing McManus in to DH. I can tell you that. Will Milazzo even be on LSU’s roster next year is something you have to start wondering

The more you post the more I realize you don’t know a whole lot of ball.
