His tip rate was extremely low at ASU.

He does seem to sail balls high so tippsies do count in that situation.

Isn't he the leading passer in the SEC right now?

Or is it just really bad luck.
He's had some bad throws this year. Some of the tipped balls were bad throws as well. It's not all bad luck.

he puts the balls into position to be tipped

pretty bad about staring down a WR when he has others open
quote:Good quarterbacking right there
if the main WR he’s looking at is covered, he’s always checking down to the RB

He won’t be able to rely on Jones to beef up his passing yards all season

Somebody like Alabama will tear that shite up like Brian Dawkins vs Reggie Bush
Sam's "turnover" problem is overstated. Aside from 1 quarter in week 2, he's only thrown 5 INTs and at least 1 of those was a bad luck tipped pass.

You do realize a ripped ball is not always “bad luck”… sometimes it’s poor timing or inaccuracy that causes a “tipped ball”

The rate that those TIPs result in interceptions is ASTRONOMICALLY HIGH. That is my point. He hasn't had a crazy number of tips, a good bit sure, but if you base his tips to number of interceptions it should have resulted in, he as 2 or 3 more than he should have based on statistics.
