Sage Ryan > Major Burns

Burns is the true liability in the back

More likely that LSU came up on their offer.

Good. We can certainly use the depth and he should improve with another year

Good to hear. We need to build off this year and not just take lumps. The more guys returning, the better for the group overall.

merc

This isn't a fair criticism. They're ALL mercs. We got our HC from the most historically prestigious program in college football by giving him a $95 million bag. Our OC was in serious negotiations with our conference rival A&M because they were offering him a huge raise that would make him the highest paid OC--if not coordinator, period--in college football (probably the NFL too) until we came in a gave him a (well-deserved) raise to stick around.

It just still tastes bad to us when it's a player because we don't like--and aren't used to--the "new normal." But regardless of how we feel about it, it's here, and while I do think it's fair to maybe praise the guys who stick around and don't shop themselves (though that is likely due more to the fact that they are playing and are getting developed and on track to make NFL money rather than some fairytale "loyalty" to LSU that we all have and wish they shared), I don't think it's fair to shite on someone like Sage who may have thrown his name out there to see what the market bore. Especially when he's been shite on constantly for 3 years by fans of the very place we expect him to be loyal to.

At this point we need bodies in the D backfield.
Hopefully this next year, he will actually be coached up on the basic fundamentals of defensive football.
And that goes for our entire D unit at every position.

Honestly, not a bad choice. I do think the staff will move him back to his natural position of Safety and he will have a better season next year than he did this past one. Corner is not his position.

A pretty apt description for this website, no?

Why do you get so bent out of shape whenever anyone says anything remotely disparaging about black people?

That’s an honest question and not a flame

But, he is just average at best.

If LSU had an average defense this year they would be in the playoffs.

Depth is always good w/experience. But, he is just average at best.

I think he's going to be one of those guys that has a great final year and the people who did nothing but shite on him will be eating crow at the end of next season

It's possible he was playing out of position this year due to injuries/suspensions/depth issues at CB
