Safeties are just as big a weakness as the offensive line

The effort on that TD run from 4 and 5 was fricking horrific. Absolute goddamned state

I’d kill for a Jack Hunt/Stoned Damien James combo rn

Yet no reps for the 3 freshmen in another blowout. Have to keep Cam and Ward in bell to bell. Daronte is sipping on his whiskey mid game it seems. Can't be bothered to substitute his position.

Daronte coaches Safeties, huh?

He'll soon be back coaching DB's in the NFL; not even close to being an SEC caliber DC and will not be retained by the new HC.

Looking at the Staff, there's not any obvious retainee's. (Not even GOAT Raymond)

I realize 24 isn't a safety, but I watched him and 31 on one play trying to cover OM receivers coming off the line on their rub route/pick patterns. Mismatch was a gross understatement. They had zero chance.

The talent on this team is vastly overrated, and that's true even if you include most of the guys who are out.

They are horrible.

Is derrick davis jr transferring or what?

If he isn't then why is cam lewis out there. Even todd harris played today.

What happened to Major Burns? All I saw was he wasn't playing. Never heard a reason.

They’ve been terrible, and it’s such an important position in modern football. You need 3 good ones almost

Derrick Davis only played in one game to my recollection. And him and Sage Ryan where like the top 2 HS safeties in the country last year so what gives

Totally agree. Jay Ward is not a safety and we have fallen way off of the type of dog safeties we always seem to have. Can we start recruiting some DBs who weigh more than 160 pounds, please?

Did someone say Jack Hunt? Jack Hunt just seemed to always be in the right place.

24, Darren Evans is the transfer last year from Nicholls when we needed depth bad. Unfortunately it was clear from the first game he stepped into that he was no where near SEC caliber. For some baffling reason he’s gotten even more PT this year. Each game when I see him on the field, I tell my wife that guy will get smoked at some point on this drive. And sure enough, every damn drive.

He was the one “guarding” the slow TE for AUB who caught the TD on Bo Nix’ magic trick. He was stuck to him on the 5 years crossing route he ran. By the time Nix had run clear to the other side of the field, he had burnt Evans by 5-6 yards as he ran into the end zone to catch the TD.

Admittedly, it’s difficult to stay with someone that long, but considering he was one of I think two receivers even running a route on the play, how did he get smoked so badly in the end? He must have lost track of him because there’s no way he loses a foot race to that guy by 5-6 yards.

I saw DDJr mess up pretty badly earlier in the year and haven’t seen him since. Sage is finally in the game and not playing very well. But these are Freshmen. They need the PT. Put them in! And M Langlois too! His HS film is sick! He should be getting PT.
The upperclassmen we are playing, only because they know the playbook I assume, are not good. Why not put the much more talented underclassmen in and let them learn. This year is obviously a bust. Get them ready for next year…

I don’t think I’ve seen Todd Harris make a play in four years.

He changed his number but it didn’t help.

I have been saying that all year. Between Flott, Ward, and Jones they dont make 400 lbs total. I have seen them get pushed around all season.
