No matter how bad JD has looked this year, CBK has refused to bench him.
This is patently false. He put Nussmeier in early in the season and he looked pretty terrible. Go back and rewatch the Southern game.

Hurts>Tua
not the Bama version of Hurts. Maybe the OU and NFL versions.

The year Tua went in for Hurts, Tua was playing after half time because Alabama was blowing everyone out. We didn't have that this year because Nuss was not getting garbage time like Tua was that year. I remember telling Bama fans that Tua was better than Hurts that year. I could not wait to see them after the Championship game to rub it in.

Tua is only better than Hurts with really good protection.
Bama had the best lineman and they were able to hold, so it wasn't really close there. Nobody is better than Tua when you give him plenty of time to throw. Now that Tua has pretty good protection in Miami, he's much better where he couldn't stay on the field when he didn't.

Brian Kelly = Les Miles +1

Not exactly an apples to apples comparison
Not calling you stupid but that analogy is stupid. There are numerous different types of apples so that's not a fair statement

I have a feeling that when CBK watched Nuss perform in the second half , he had an epiphany . The coaching staff were probably amazed . I also believe that the QB competition will be wide open next year . Otherwise , why would Boutte stay ? Boutte wanted Nuss .

Brian Kelly beat Saban this year.
Just wanted to let OP know, seems confused.

Yes . I agree not giving Nuss more playing time was a mistake . In the second half of the NM state game , I liked his quick setup and fast release and accuracy . He is unpolished , but there is a ton of raw talent to develop . Now , JD , I feel has plateaued .
4 yr starter , inconsistent . After all this coaching , he does not play Championship football . You will not win a Natty with JD . Kelley must know this by now .

Thanks for the inside info. I’ve never considered any of this, Captain Obvious.

Also, Nuss-lead LSU scored 20 points in the second half vs GA’s 15……more points then JD’s 1st half

The problem with a dink and dunk offense is your team has to go 75 yards and has to make 6 or 7 first downs to get the td……that leaves lots of room for errors (sacks, incompletions, fumbles)…..not to mention, the defense stacks the box and leaves the Rb’s vulnerable to big jarring hits (fumbles)….& all those sideline throws by JD that were a little late left the wr vulnerable to big hits….
So JD may have had a lot of yards passing but if you don’t score, none of those dink and dunk yards mean a thing…..big plays reduce those chances for error….
How many times this year has LSU driven the ball down to the 35 or so just to have a big sack on 3rd down or a long ball that was not catchable and we’d have to punt….it was so frustrating to watch….and it was totally due to that dink and dunk boring arse offense……
And also, JD’s style of play leaves himself open to injury…..

The difference between the 2 is that Saban will put his ego aside to win games, CBK hasn’t shown that yet
What the frick does ego have to do with changing QBs? Does trading in a car mean you have no ego? How about changing your underwear?

Who the hell are you talking about, Saban and ego! Are you crazy?

JD was far away from being great
