Nuss could be a good QB but you can't take what you saw in 2nd half of the SECCG and assume thats what we'd see every day

This is the main issue.

On a bigger scale, the problem is people think Nussmeier could have had lsu in the same position JD had lsu going into the A&M game. And that the same results can simply be achieved next year.

JD is prob worth 1.5-2 more wins than Nussmeier, if not more.

Exactly. So much cherry picking and short sighted arguments being thrown around

That kind of happens when you lack depth and familiarity. I’m pretty sure those issues will be fixed in the offseason

That's the thing - it really doesn't happen. We aren't the first team to lack depth, or have new coaches. I don't recall a team of our talent (or even significantly less talent) ever struggling so much on special teams. At least not in the past 20-25 years that I've followed football closely. If you know of one it would be interesting to see and compare.

I agree it should get fixed, but really it shouldn't have happened in the first place. Oh well.

GLARINGLY WRONG?!?!? Ffs we won 9 games when everyone picked us as going 6-6!!!!! We won the SEC west. We beat Bama at home for the first time since 2010. I’d say BKs been right this whole time.

Yes glaringly wrong. Please tell me what games JD looked great passing the ball on besides Florida? He was awful in every other game - including the first half of Ole Miss and Bama

Nuss thus far in his career against mostly creampuffs, a bad Ar-Kansas outing and 1 elite defense in garbage time

70/126, 55% completion, 956 yards, 7.6 avg, 6 TOs, 5 TDs, sacked 6x, 124.4 rating.

Boom or bust where looking at those numbers the negatives outweigh the positives due to TOs. The 60-year-old coach knows more than tRant.

Not dunking on Nuss. He can get very good with more development but to anoint him god already is pretty shortsighted.

Why besides FLORIDA? Is it because it completely destroys your argument. And ok he had bad halves in certain games. Also had very good halves in them. He’s had ONE season here. One season in this system. Idgaf about his time at Arizona. They had coaches intentionally sabotaging the team.

Yea, look, I like Nuss. But if you want to compete next year like you did this year, Daniels is the guy. Growing pains will come with Nuss, which is fine. But you are basically conceding a run at something bigger

LSU fans are idiots, a lot of those idiots are obsessed with Bama. It’s pathetic.

You can assume he has a pro arm.

The difference between the 2 is that Saban will put his ego aside to win games, CBK hasn’t shown that yet

Leaving Nuss on the bench this entire season has been a huge mistake.

What game did LSU lose because of Jayden Daniels that you can truly say Nuss would have made a difference?

Because Florida is the only game all season that he had an above average passing game - the outlier

Many here, especially those who ask those type of questions, have very little faith in our $10 million a year coach.

If people watched this entire football season and have little faith in the head coach they are idiots and should not be listened to.

He took a team that has gone 10-11 the last two seasons and won the SEC West in year one with a transfer QB, a RB group with a walk on as its most consistent performer, an offensive line starting two true freshman tackles, a d line that lost its best player in the first quarter of game one and had zero depth, and a defensive backfield held together by duct tape and bubble gum

I missed it apparently, when exactly was this supposed to take place?

And who exactly was supposed to prevent the 88 points scored by the opponent over the last 2 games?

Kelly has switched QBs before when at ND. I don't buy the narrative that Kelly doesn't, as you so eloquently put it, "have the stones to do the same thing"

Hurts had played like crap for several weeks leading up to that game. Alabama was winning in spite of Hurts during that time. That wasn’t a one game decision

and you can't take that same half and expect to see it ever again in a game with JD as qb.

350 3 TDs vs Florida, 250 2 TDs vs Ole Miss.

This was a few games JD had as a true freshman

334 3 TD vs Oregon St
345 2 TD vs Colorado
363 3 TD vs Washington St
408 3 TD vs Oregon

All passing numbers and only one int in those 4 games.
Also he averaged around 69% and 10.1 yards per attempt in those 4 games. He had 5 games with at least 304 passing and 6 games with at least 284.

Now that he's a year in this system and with these receivers, I expect him to be at his peak next year.
