Today in the press conference he said the injury wouldn't require surgery which was different than what some where saying on Saturday night.

It appears to be a MCL sprain. A bad one, but just a sprain.

We had a kid do that earlier this year and he was back in two weeks exactly. He was a RB though. I think Cody could possibly be back for Arky State but there is Zero chance he plays.

He'll probably be back for the Tigers but not 100 percent.

Auburn is bringing Chaz Ramsey back for the Iron Bowl. Better tell Cody to be ready.

I hate to say it but that was a bunch of coach talk. He is out for about 4 weeks from what I am hearing.

I don't think we will have Cody until the Auburn game but he wants Les to have to plan for cody to take focus off of other things.

I was reading a different Bama site earlier and it said the MRI results were showing just a sprain. Not sure how true that is...either way, I wish the kid a speedy recovery. But it really wouldn't hurt my feelings if he was parked on the sidelines for the LSU game.

Yup, apparently Saban is calling Auburn out by brining Cody back for the Iron Bowl. I guess he doesn't think with all the turmoil of our season we don't have the "stomach" for chop blocking anymore. Why any team would play a defensive tackle with NFL potential that is coming off a knee injury against us is beyond me. I know Saban wants to win the iron bowl, but at at this guys size and lack of speed he has chop block bait written all over him. If Cody plays against Auburn I would be shocked if he walks off the field.

If it's a "bad" sprain then there's zero chance of him being back for LSU. If he plays, it'll be on half a leg. He won't make it thru the 1st quarter before he reinjures it

No, it was Andre Smith, who ONLY weighs 345. What's your fricking problem?

He'll be injury plagued his entire career. I can't imagine the stress his joints have with all that weight he carries around, much less playing in a football game. One blown out knee and his career is over.

I honestly don't see how you can say that. He got his knee rolled on and ANYBODY who has that happen, will get injured, no matter how much they weigh.

Cody is big but he's also pretty agile and he is in shape. He weighed 400+ when he came here but he has gotten in shape since then.

Cecil Hurt on Finebaum just said the injury is exactly what the early diagnosis was and he could realistically be back for LSU. Said it's the same injury that caused Andre Smith to miss 1 week.

Lucky, it's a valid point, although not very eloquently stated. A big guy like that will take a bit longer to heal, especially a knee, with all that stress on a joint. He may never be the same player he was, see Glen Dorsey. He NEVER regained his explosion off the line.

He gets the finger because I sense some smugness in his post.

Also, it's a sprained MCL. It's a little premature to say that his career is over.

I got that too but it's still a valid point. You could tell by the look on the big guy's face when they carted him off that it wasn't good.

I agree. My money's on him not being back for LSU, but I hope I'm wrong. I also hope for his sake that he doesn't rush back and frick himself up really good.

He'll dress for LSU as a decoy mainly. Even if he sees the field, his replacement at 100% is FAR more effective than Cody at 70-75%.

You don't half to worry about that type of shite with Nick. He won't risk the kids career for one game. That's one area him and Les are very alike.
