Even if he sees the field, his replacement at 100% is FAR more effective than Cody at 70-75%.

Cody's backup doesn't suck. Josh Chapman has played significant minutes all year. The problem is his backup.

Cody won't be back anytime soon, if at all this season. Has anyone in Gumpsville brought up the fact that this is the first time in Saban's coaching career that he's been 7-0.

Look on the bright side. At least it wasn't the result of a cheap premeditated chop block. Not that that has ever happened to any of our players. I suspect he will be back. I doubt he will be full strength until bowl season rolls around.

It appears to be a MCL sprain. A bad one, but just a sprain

I had a couple of those when I was playing, it takes a while heal up.

I hope the kid will be able to play against LSU and I suspect he will. Most players play hurt so if he can safely play, he will.

Cody plays about 4-5 plays before Chapman comes in for about 3 plays I believe. So it will not be a total disaster, but it will hurt Bama bad enough. I do not see him being much of a factor the rest of the year until at least the MSU or AU game if at all.

TigerDew, you are joking about Saban caring for a kids career, right? Do you not remember his dumbass playing Mauck with a huge lead over UF? How about Ben Wilkerson in against Vandy? That play cost him Millions.

Reality, is Saban will do what is best for Saban. Always has and always will. He isn't a horrible person, but his track record doesn't help him in this scenario.

Neither of those two were hurt at the time. They got hurt in those games. We had starters in in the 3rd and 4th quarter of the North Texas game too. Coaches don't often send a kid on to the field with a fricking death wish. Someone that big that plays that position would be just about murdering his career if he comes back too early.

Hmmm, I remember Nick keeping Ben Wilkerson in the game when it was a blowout and the injury he sustained on the last play of the game was devastating.

Why any team would play a defensive tackle with NFL potential that is coming off a knee injury against us is beyond me

Julio Jones seems to be an even bigger playmaker as a freshman.
