So, from here on out is the pressure turned up or does he get a pass still b/c he's only in his second year and the cupboard was left bare?

Bama takes a step BACK next year.....watch and see!

New QB and some critical losses on the both lines of scrimmage.

Oh, Saban is screwed. If he doesn't win the SECCG this year he will be flogged as a pretender to the houndstooth throne.

I can hear it next year... "How the hell do you go from the SECCG to a three loss season in one year?"

he's done a heck of a job in his second year... whether or not they beat lsu they will win the west and face florida in the sec ccg

Now if they get beaten (perhaps badly?) by florida... and don't win the west next year? Then you probably hear a lot of grumbling from the tide (where you presently hear gloating)

I know, when was the last time bama was undefeated this late in the season?

Perhaps, 2005 with Shula as the coach. At least we are not hearing any rumbles this year about winning with another coaches talent. How quickly the bammers forget.

New QB.. yes.
Bama will only suffer losses on the Offensive line. No one is leaving from the defensive trenches.

Saban has many options between now and then. I'm sure Sexton has a hard on right now with all the major programs having openings. Do you think Sexton just has a map of the US and little chess piece with Tubs, Saban, and Nutt and do he just decide when it's time to more one. Sexton is the Vince McMahon of college football.

The only difference between 2005 and 2008 is that LSU and Auburn will not present formidable challenges. The records and ranking are not too disimilar otherwise.

In other words, BS. Saban has won 1 game of noteworthiness thus far, and otherwise has done nothing that Shula did not do up to this point in the season (really).

Tone down the hyperbole, please.

Yea, I was gonna say, T. Cody might be going early too. Still to early to say right now though!

My 2 cents on this though is that 'bama fans (those younger than 40 or so) are realistic and understand you can't win Championships (SEC or NCs) every year. I think most realize that college football ebbs and flows, especially with scholarship limitations nowadays.

Bama isn't going to "run anyone out" for a long time given our recent coaching ... "issues". I think bama fans should be more worried about Saban doing too well this season and jumping ship in 2-3 years. Just my 2 cents, again...

we werent even suppose to be good this year. we all said 2009 is the year. if andre smith comes back next year which is unlikely we will be real good. New qb or not well be as good as this year. we dont lose anything on defense except for rashad johnson.

Bama fans are no more unrealistic than LSU fans. We've been here before. We know what it takes to win and we know some years aren't going to be great. Only the few whackos will be complaining if we lose a few next year. So far, this year has gone better than even the most optimistic among us would have bet. If we do lose a game or two down the stretch, nobody will calling for Saban's head. I predicted 10-2 before the season, and I'll still be very happy with that, even if a little disappointed after we've come this far.

seems to be his M.O. but I'm not really sure he has anywhere to jump ship too....he seems to enjoy the SEC, maybe he'll be a Vol next year?

Oh sweet God! I never even thought about that. If Saban jumped ship for UT... wow, I'd be on board with LSU for hating his guts!

Wow, I just had bad mental images of him in rocky top orange.

Erasing those mental images and focusing on Saturday! Ok, better now! haha
