And another thing, before I go clock in on my shrimp boat...
Why is it always "Ryan did xyz during Covid" but it's never "well the student athletes said they absolutely disliked how Coach O and his handpicked staff handled the situation"...

I don't mind Ryan Clark being cancelled. He was a bit on the racist side, IMO.

You need to broaden your historical perspective. There is much more to the slavery narrative. Look into Dr. Tony Martin for starters. Michael A. Hoffman is another good source.

He was accused of steering players away from LSU if I recall.
Yes, when the cultural and political divide was at its height, it was conveyed that he was stirring the pot and doing just this. Right or wrong, O had already laid his political views on the table. We all remember, it was a key contributor to the toxic culture that followed.

It doesn’t sound like he was cancelled to me. He simply wanted more money than ESPN was willing to pay, so they are parting ways.

This guy actually thinks he should get paid more?????

I need to stop replying to these things...but an offer is on the table from ESPN. They are negotiating. He will get paid more, how much more is the question. They have not parted ways...they are just working on the deal. Not sure if the masses here live under a rock, but Clark is talented. Espn showcases him across all the shows on their platform. NFL Live is probably the best Football show on Television because of the content and analysis provided.
So again, hate the guy personally all you may like. That's your prerogative.
But that can be done so without the baseless critique of his work, and saying that it's bad. Bc it isn't. My guess is he's asking to be compensated like a top 5 male pundit on their network. I can't blame anyone for wanting their due.

Take away his LSU connection and just think about him as a talking head, why was he even a thing? How the hell did he make all the way to ESPN and stay there for so long? He's not very good at it. Usually these guys have charm, charisma, and/or deep knowledge of the sports world. They are good at debating and communicating their points. He's not great at anything really. Just likes to throw race at everything. That's his whole deal.

Good riddance to the racist POS.

Or a guys that's smart enough to understand where media is headed and doesn't need ESPN to get his point across anymore.

Yall are way to hard on Ryan Clark. He's just a drunk who talks sideways when he's had a few, but is otherwise a good dude.

Calling Shawn Payton a thug is way overboard. Maybe Payton did something he didn't like but you don't use that term. A term not so endearing to any race. I'm sure ESPN has no interest in keeping him. It's probably as rich as Trump got when he sued the NFL.
