That's a pretty tall order. I'd be happy if he turned out to be Pat White. I saw somebody say Percy Harvin...that would be cool too. Hell, at this point, I just hope he doesn't get hurt...

well, tebow is strictly a system QB...its not inconceivable that shep could equal the success of tebow if placed in a system that played to his talents

white is one of the best college QB's ever, so yea, that would be kinda cool

He's 6'1". Thats tall enough. He's a little thin, but he'll bulk up.

It's going to depend on how he develops this first year. I think he'll be with us for 4 years..

Not too large of an exaggeration. Below is a sample of his accomplishments:

*Starting record of 34-8 is unmatched by any quarterback in WVU history and sixth in the NCAA in most career victories as a starting quarterback.

*Is the only quarterback in FBS history to win four bowl games as a starter.

*His 4,400+ yards rushing are the most among any quarterback in FBS history

*One of only eight players in NCAA history to rush for 200 and pass for 200 yards in a game (Pitt 2006, 220 rushing and 204 passing)

*One of five players in NCAA history to rush for 1,000 yards and pass for 1,000 yards in a season. (Accomplished twice, 2006 and 2007)

*Fourth player in NCAA history with 40+ rushing and 40+ passing touchdowns in a career

*Second player in NCAA history with 4,000+ rushing yards and 5,000+ passing yards.

*First in total touchdowns responsible for in WVU and Big East history - 99 touchdowns

He may not have gone to a 'big school', but you cannot deny what he accomplished for West Virginia. If he had gone to Nebraska, he would be held in the same esteem as Tommie Frazier.

if RS wants to be in the NFL one day, he needs to play either WR or CB. IMO FWIW.

he has all the skills to play qb, he just has to develop some.

He'll have to develop some muscular weight. He's skinny as a rail and will be taken out on a stretcher with one good hit from an S.E.C. defensive lineman or linebacker. Put him at WR where he'll only have to elude DB's...........

Les told himn he would have the opportunity to play QB. That is what Shep said. If he doesn't pan out at QB, and doesn't want to make the switch to WR. . .well I hope he gets his degree.
You really should stop posting on this matter. The statements like the one above are just making you look dumber and dumber. If you honestly beleive that the #1 dual threat recruit in the nation, who has proven to be the ultimate team player, recruiter, and dedicated LSU athelete, is just going to "get his degree" while at LSU you are truly one of the more idiotic posters on this board.

I really don't understand what your agenda is against Russell Shepard and why you keep starting negative threads about him. So far he's accepted his role on the team and has stated publicly that he will do whatever it takes to help the team win, whether that is playing slot or at QB.

It is highly unlikely, if not impossible, that he will be strictly a "receiver" in college. He has never played receiver before, what makes you think he will now? Maybe he will play some slot, or be in a Wild Tiger formation where he runs the ball or catches screens, that is a fair argument, but wide receiver? He has neither the skills, experience or body type to be a SEC caliber full time receiver.

I don't know where you get some of the bullshite you spew, but you should really re-evaluate it before you post more of it.
