Right now though, there are upperclassman in front of him. Russell will just have to wait.

uh, the guy in his position is a sophomore. does that mean we have to wait 3 more years?

he has to pay his dues. right now its best for him to watch others play until he develops enough heart and hustle to be on the field. he also needs to learn the playbook first before being thrown out there.

He has skills that don't require him to take another players spot permanently.

It just requires to use him. Especially after it's proven successful.

Seriously, someone explain to me why he runs 4 for 26 and then never sees the field again?

In the mean time lets waste his redshirt and lose 4 or 5 games... smart...

I believe there is a touch of "truthful sarcasm" in the OP's thread.

It wouldn't take many coaches very long to get a talent like Shepard 10+ touches a game. RB, WR, slot/Hback, etc. He appears to be one of those special talents and I hope we get him the ball 10 to 12 times versus the dawgs.

which upperclassmen have been running the change-up plays from the QB position, I've apparently missed some of the games?

he fumbled and saw action on the next series... which was surprising but shows that miles is willing to risk that for his big play ability

I truly believe that the fate of LSU this year could rest on whether we use Shep enough and in the right situations.

The guy is a freak...with his vision, speed, and athleticism. I dont care if he's a freshman, you get the ball in his hands.

Its up to the coaches to realize how important he can be...time will tell.

He hasn't been given enough opportunities to show his heart and hustle. Every time he gets the chance, he makes something happen. That's a crock of shite. Let him play an entire series.

I agree. Let's waste his red shirt since he is our most productive ypc player. And since we don't lack some leadership and carisma he is wasting that everytime he even steps on the field "per miles and all of the fans at the games" . Sorry for the sarcasm it's directed at coaches.

Have you ever thought about what would happen if he actually threw the ball? Wide arse open. It would make Tebow's freshman jump-passes look covered. His first pass is coming at Geotgia, probably his second snap.

the dilemma is spreading the ball around. if u give shepard more carries, that takes away from the ball possession time grinding Scott runs up the middle. those are essential to opening up the passing game and even though they get stuffed all the time now they help open up a high flying attack.

seriously???? Have you thought of what might happened if you gave him enough time to shred up opposing defenses and continue to gain confidence?

you can't teach what that boys got. right now you're just wasting a redshirt year.

these guys are playing because they are the next option should the first line guys go down. they may not be big factors this year, but their year is not being wasted...
