Shepard to the NFL is the most hilarious thing I've ever read in my entire life.

I need to announce that I'm also entering the NFL draft this year. we'll both start the same number of games in our careers.

Shep is just frustrated and looking for some attention after having sat the bench during the NC game.

From a player evaluation standpoint Shep has a quick first step, but he doesn't have breakaway speed and is not big enough to play in the SEC, much less the NFL.

I'd compare Shep's to Lavelle Hawkins, minus the good hands and breakaway speed, which pretty much means he's a smallish, average receiver.

From what other standpoint would the quickness of Shep's first step be relevant? A shoplifter evaluation standpoint? A tapdancer evaluation standpoint?

I think I just hit my breaking point with all this shite.

It appears Miles can be a real dick to some players and I know making assumptions about players with Les is pretty stupid but suppose Les lets Mett start and suppose he let's him through the ball down the field if a WR has any talent he will move up farther in the draft and get a bigger contract. Of course Miles will probably start Randell since he is faster and can avoid the rush

Shep can't be serious, he didnt produce enough yet to even get a look from the NFL IMO. One more year with Mett will do wonders for him, I really like Shep and hope he doesn't make a huge mistake and come out a year when he had severely low production ..

Are we in the twilight zone?

Let's not get crazy here. We've seen Shep blow past fast DBs in the past. He runs a legit 4.4something. Maybe in the low 4.4s.

What position would he be drafted for?

Seems like he would be an athlete that could play multiple positions.

That's the problem, there is no position that he would project as skilled and ready enough to make a 53 man roster as right now.

You would draft him as a practice squad guy, which means no way he is drafted before the 6th, and he would have a good chance of not being drafted at all.

Then his best chance would be to come back and hope the passing game steps up next year.

Or maybe he can try out for QB again for next year.

Russell Shepherd has been a disapointment throughout his LSU career. He won't go very high in NFL draft & won't be missed at LSU. Randle's loss will hurt. He is a fool to leave at this time as he has much to gain by another year at LSU. Obviously, an education is not a priority with either. Oh, suprise me with a "there ready to graduate " story.

Shep hasn't been a disappointment. The way this coaching staff has used him has been a disappointment.

And by the way.... You might wanna learn the correct way to use there/their before you talk about anyone graduating anything

That's one downside to stocking the team with superstar talent. Someone is going to get upset that they're not getting PT. And CLM is not adept at distributing it. Shep only got THREE PLAYS in the BCS game.

I would love to have Shepard as a WR at Auburn. I think a lot of it has to do with the QBs and running the ball alot. His stock would be all about how well he performs at the combines.

How is he a disappointment? What's disappointing is the way this staff tries to utilize him. He doesn't get the type of touches to truly be effective.

I do agree trying to go to the draft would be a mistake, but his underwhelming career at lsu is not his fault; it's on the coaches.
