Our running game was atrocious. We have got to run the ball better to setup the passing game. Will Emory look better than TDP when he returns? Why didn’t we see any of the freshman last night? It seems like they were talked about a lot during camp.

We need misdirection and our passing game needs to handle the blitzes. UCLA sent extra rushers on nearly every possession

In 2019 Burrow would motion Clyde out for a quick dump pass a lot, yet I didn't see that last night.

Nothing can change this year. We’re going to run better on weaker opponents but that’s about it. If you want to run the ball at a high level you need too have great coaching, recruit better O Lineman, have an absolute elite RB. We have none of those things.

They've had 2 years to fix the O Line, they can't and it's not going to miraculously fix itself before SEC play. Bad coaching and mediocre recruiting. Starting Center being an Ivy League transfer says volumes as to the situation on the line.

The next few weeks will be like the Vandy game last year where Emery rushes for 100 plus and Orgeron thinks the problems are now all fixed.

The RB’s have zero vision, they just run straight forward into the play designed hole. I believe Emery is done, time to move on. OL has to sustain their blocks for 3 seconds. Kiner needs some touches as he has the vision and feel to either cut back, or bounce it outside. The kid is hungry and needs an opportunity to prove himself.

That's not the only problen.

Do you see what ucla does in the run game with misdirection?

The problem is the scheme also. O wants joebrady offense. His running game was very simple.

Peetz should've schemed up some misdirection. Run the wide receiver by and fake it to them.

Give the linebackers something to think about. You can't just line up in the same formations and block one on one and expect to dominate in the run game.

Unless he can glitch through unblocked linemen and linebackers, no.

TDP tip toeing and dancing around before he even gets to the LOS is concerning...

Need to run outside zone, zone read with the QB keeping, speed option, jet sweeps, misdirection, counters. It can’t just be inside zone up the middle. None of that would have worked last night though against a stacked box sending 5-7 every play. They could have run bubble screen every play for 5-10 yards. Piss poor play calling on both sides of the ball.

On a few plays it seemed like half the offense was pulling on the run play. While it wasn't always effective it must be a bitch to defend and would give the defense something to think about.

We need a Tori Carter fulback clone. I miss the old killer FBs with blood on their mind. (JC Copeland, Tori Carter). Sometimes our rbs just need a little help.

Find a center who can block. Shanahan is not SEC quality, and never was
