does the chicken bowl no longer exist or do they just not sponsor anymore ?
can Nola bid on the championship game even though they are in the rotation for the semis ?
Or can Nola only bid on years they are not hosting the semis ?
The new system will be such an improvement for collage football , I was never a bcs hater , it was an improvement from the way it was before but it outran its course by quite a few years ....
I hope eventually it goes to an 8 team playoff ....
has it been mentioned if they can change the amount of teams before the current contract is up ?

1. Chick fil a still sponsors the bowl, but decided to change the name back to the peach bowl.
2. Superdome can still bid outside of semi years, but I believe the bidding has already passed through 2017? Don't quote me on that
3. This format will likely be here about as long as the BCS was.

So wait, all the bowl games that matter are smashed into New Years Eve and New Years Day? That kind of sucks - especially if you're in the Orange Bowl on NYE.
I don't see any reason those games can't continue to be spread out like now, as long as they aren't the semifinal in that year.

I hate this playoff idea because eventually they will want to expand it thus making the regular season less meaningful.

This new format is under a 12 year contract and we all know that the original BCS format was not changed until it's contract had expired. I hope this deal stays in place for its entirety and when the new deals are done, that it will remain at 4 teams.
CFB has the BEST regular season for a reason...you are not rewarded for a "good" regular season, your are rewarded for a "great" regular season.

Sounds to me like an ESPN production all the way

Unless you are Alabama, then you don't have to win your division or conference, and still play for the National Championship.
Yeah I know, severe butt hurt, it isn't going away anytime soon so deal with it.

I don't like that logic for the NCAA.
The difference between this and other pro sports is the sample size is much much larger. So instead of 30 teams fighting for 16 spots you have 120+ teams fighting for 8-16 spots (if its expanded) I don't think it would pull much meaning from the regular season. If anything it might make it more entertaining with more teams having more to play for.

Or, on the other side, you're Oklahoma St. And win your conference and don't play for the National Championship. Or are TCU or Boise St and deemed unworthy. Or Auburn in 2004. Or are Texas and Texas Tech(not OkSt) who lost the BigXII on a coin flip to Oklahoma.

I like the playoff idea and yes I would like to expand it to 8 teams and completely cut out the BS games on the schedule. So cutting the CRAP games and increasing the playoffs, hope that happens.

They were forced to change if they wanted to be part of the six.

Feminists don't like Condoleeza Rice, bro. Feminists only support leftists.
Also, this playoff will be a joke.

Your face kinda sucks.
The games being so close together is one of the few things I actually like about the new system.
