I'm not sure if he's lost his support. I thought most people wanted him gone last year and was shocked by the people I sit next to at the Stadium. They were strongly behind him. I'm curious how they will be Saturday night
This is an interesting topic. Like myself, I think much of the fan base is wary of a coaching change. We all know what can happen if a wrong hire is made. I think that is what drove some of the Miles support last year. Then, of course, you have the fans who don't want him fired because they like him as a person.

I saw someone post that even he did run the table and win a NC he'd still want him fired afterwards

Miles doesnt need to survive. He needs to win out an then retire. He does not need to coach another season at LSU
Agreed
Wish I could upvote this more than once.

That was me. I'm fed up with him. I wish Tiger fans would boycott the games to force something.

DUH... so, either way, it's a win win...

Yeah I could see this happening, but when will we get to the top. Everyone said if LES can't win with this team then he will never win.

If he gets to 10 regular season wins, I think he's safe.
If he beats Bama, he's likely safe.
10 wins means we beat Auburn, Ole Miss, Arkansas and aTm (among others). Can anybody who watched Saturday rationally say this is realistic?

no
if we lose 1 SEC game and finish with 2 losses he's fine
hell with all the early losses, if that 1 loss is to Bama and they run the table we may make it into the playoffs

Winning the SEC is his only option. Anything less and he is gone.

You should be. No coach or recruit would come to a school that just fired a NC winning coach

First time for everything.

He's not going anywhere. We will look much better these next few games, finish 10-2, go to a decent bowl game, and all will be forgotten. The admin would take too much heat buying out a 10-2/9-3 coach.

Highly unlikely, but not impossible. We have the talent tand gameplan to keep any opponent close late into the game. A few lucky bounces and improvements could result in a lot of undeserving wins, see 2010.

I disagree with that.
If the team were to truly turn it around, and look good and dangerous. And, they end up dropping another game to a good team, Miles will survive and people will feel pretty good about the program as they should be.
However, I think that's in the 10-15% chance bucket. And, conversely, I think if we find ourselves with a 3 loss team (or worse) it's a given that he's gone. In fact, I think they will negotiate with him and he'll announce his retirement before the end of the year in that scenario.
That team wasn't ready to play. And, worse, everyone (including the team) was visibly shaken just a quarter and a half into the season due to the offensive problems. Going for it on your side of the field in a 3 point game in the 2nd quarter kind of says it all. The psyche of this team is fragile. And, it's going to take something really positive happening to change that.

he would survive if he beat BAMA
Posted on 9/6/16 at 10:45 am to KC Tiger
no. If he only loses one more he's back next year. If he beats Bama he might be able to lose 2 more.

I want him gone as much as anybody but I think he's here next year even with 3 losses. 2 in the sec and the Wisconsin.

I don't think so. If he predictable and doesn't game the game plan and loses another, even if it is Bama, I think he is gone. They would wait till after the season but he will be done. Everyone, all the way up the chain, is tired of I-formation run right, I-form run left, pass, punt.
