Do we need to open up the Coaching Changes board again? I'm feeling it. I feel like it's 2016 all over again!

This is why I do not believe Aranda wants to be a college HC. I do not think Orgeron would have a coordinator who could be a threat as a successor. Which is why he struggles to find an elite OC he can live with...

I dont think Aranda wants the recruiting responsibilities and the other things that go with overall program management.

Hell, I wouldnt.

Many guys have made some good careers off of being great coordinators. I do see him wanting to go to the NFL one day possibly.

I don't see it. That would mean Ed was wrong again with his OC hire. No way should Alleva and Ed make it through firing another OC in less than 2 years.

Doesn't he already make more money than most NFL coordinators?

I cringe when O talks about the coaches sleeping in the office and first one in the door at 3 am

Working long hours without result is a pretty bad look.

I know coaches give up family during football season but working all night is definitely not showing up on Sat.

Ensminger will never be “fired” at LSU. He will “step down”.

I don't think O didn't like Canada because he had to look over his shoulder. I think O didn't like Canada because their personalities clashed. Canada has not gotten along with head coaches in the past. And as good of an offensive mind as I think he is, you can't have clashing like that in a program. O and Aranda work well because they get along. Aranda has full control of the defense. O seems to be fine with that.

Your right if it was someone who didn’t understand the situation and didn’t want the job but took it to help a old friend at the school he loves. Think outside the box. That would answer why he hired se instead of looking elsewhere like another Canada. He has the guy he wants but is waiting on the sec to let him hire him. Either way I can see where se took the job with some conditions like find the right guy. I’ll hold it till you do or we all get fired.

This is the part that makes some sense. I would not think O would waste a year on purpose though. If that was the plan, I do not agree with it.

Secondly, Freeze will not be a long term solution. He is a proven head man and recruiter, as soon as his history is cleaned up...he will be a head coach in just a year or two.

This does not pass the smell test of E just holding the seat warm. As a fan base we were told that ol Slinger was the best man for the job. We were told that Canada was the best man for the job, too.

And maybe freeze isn’t the guy. I get what o told us as a fan base but if he didn’t what do you think the fan base would do? Hell we don’t know if there is a back story or plan and it’s an easy topic to talk about. I don’t know if freeze wants a head job because he will be watched like a hawk. Maybe being oc for 3-5 years or more is a place he and his family would rather be. I don’t know there has to be more back room dealings in this thing. Maybe I’ve been on the political board too much.

Not so fast my friend.

What it could mean is that Ensminger was a 1 yr stop-gap until he could hire Freeze for '19. Freeze may have been too toxic for '18.

Freeze said that he told Jimmy that was probably a no-go because he didn’t think O would want him on staff. Freeze continued and said he didn’t believe O would want him because he may think he was looking over his shoulder and is thinks he may try to get his job.

I asked Coach Freeze didn’t O just do that to Les and Coach Freeze just smiled and said you need to ask Les that question.

I really want to believe this.

I don’t see SE being the OC next year. The timing would be perfect.

So in O’s first 3 years, he’ll have 3 different OC’s?? That is not good for the program. At all.
