I feel like the Stoops play is just covering all their bases. They have a short list, i am sure, from most desired to least. Any AD and HC worth their salt would have Stoops at the bottom of that short list

that is what most people think. Except mytigger who insists that his source says stoops is a top choice and maybe the guy. Also one guy from Oklahoma who said stoops would be offered the job, but it appears that he was full of it and Miles never made an offer.

Personally I would be surprised if stoops gets hired, but you never know.

Coach O would give a great boost to recruiting. Tennessee has went from a recruiting class in 2013 in the 20s to a recruiting class that was ranked 7th in 2014. This year they are ranked 5th and doing a lot of work. With more and more SEC teams recruiting so well you will always need a Coach O type person in your program to get those hard sales.

I have confidence in Miles botching this job, just like he's botched QB play....nothing would surprise me.

How many of us would like to be a fly on the wall in these Meetings.

So what's the NLT date for a hire and to unfold the plans for a monster defense,... one week prior to signing day, one day prior? How close is cutting it too close?

with the 2016 class coming up, if we don't have a top class that year we will fall behind the other SEC teams and may fall apart. Recruiting is huge that is why IMO we need Coach O.

I think it is true that he is going to interview stoops but it is more of a favor than an actual consideration.

Note: the advocate said they couldn't confirm the report that he was being interviewed.

quote:

Stoops reportedly is another candidate. KWTV in Oklahoma City reported that Stoops and Miles were scheduled to meet Saturday; The Advocate could not confirm the report.

now that simply could be that those sources aren't willing to tell the advocate, or the story never had any credibility.

So while watching UFC replay this morning I tried looking up any private jets that left Baton Rouge for any airports in Dallas. I didn't see one private jet. Is it possible that he took a regular small commercial jet?
A helicopter can get you to the Hammond airport in about 25 minutes - there are several private jets stationed at the Hammond airport and a couple belongs to some well heeled Tiger supporters. Also, you can request Flightaware not post your flight - just throwing all that out there, kinda like all the other shite that has been thrown in this thread. Don't want Stoops.

The salary for the new coordinator is expected to be similar to that of Chavis, who made $1.3 million per year.

Per the Advocate

This is why we may wind up with the unpopular selection.

Aleva needs to give CLM the leeway to push that needle to market price. If he does not then he is willing to risk two seasons of poor performance to remove Miles IMO

Those pinko commies. In all seriousness, I would be miserable if my workplace blocked TD

The advocate quote using the word expected means they have no idea what the budget is for the hire. It's not that hard to read. Possibly, maybe, expected, likely etc.

You sure nailed the "bayou". What's your connection? From "down the bayou"?

Well there are such things as performance incentives. Maybe you don't offer them more than $1.3 million in salary but include performance incentives such as if the defense is in the top 10 of total defense and/or scoring defense or you can convince juniors to stay in school!

The last hire had to be made to fix the abomination that was Malvetto. He isn't batting 1000.

Did you see the difference in SC's play after kiffen was let go and Jr (Ed "bebe" Orgeron, Jr) took over the program? The whole team wanted him to be the permanent coach.
