Hearing Andrew Stevenson, Nats' top choice in '15 draft, will be called up to Nats in wake of Heisey injury. Nothing official yet.

What kind of injury did this guy sustain? Will Stephenson be up for a while, or is it gonna be a short stint? Just wondering.

Do they redo their contract for time up or do they still get their lowish minors pay?

Think they get at least the major league minimum.

Congrats to AS. I remember watching him when he first came here and I would have never thought this was possible. You saw the defense, but the offense wasn't there.
Then, he kept working and progressing and became a great overall player.
Hope this is the beginning of a long career in the show for AS.

Same here, I have been most impressed with how he has elevated his game. This we know: there is ALWAYS a spot in MLB for the fast outfielder with mad concentration skills who can get on base and then steal one. You don't have to drop bombs to be paid a king's ransom to play the game. Go get some, AS!

He will get pro rated MLB minimum for as long as he is up. If he's on the 40 man (not sure if he is or not) he's already getting it.
I doubt the nats really care how well he hits. Dude can scoot on the bases and absolutely go get a ball as well as anyone

Groin.
Unless it's a tear, he should return within a1-3 weeks would be my guess.

Come on Andrew, play so they can't take you out.

He'll keep his minor league contract and get a small bonus for being called up. That's what's so screwed up about the MLB pay system- players have to be signed to a major league contact to be given the MLB minimum. If a guy is called up while he's on his minor league contract, he's just considered a minor league player who's on the 40 man roster and he gets a growing bonus for each successive call-up, and the league minimum salary for minor leaguers on a 40 man roster is around $70,000 I believe.
Guys can get really screwed by getting called up and down at the wrong times unless something's changed since around 2010 when I was in the loop. Here's to hoping that Stevenson stays up there until his contract expires and he gets that MLB contract
