If LSU takes 2/3 in College Station, let’s have you turn that D1 site purple.

Kendall, thanks for the info on streaming the game. Unfortunately, I have to save my $$ to help Jay pay the bus fare a certain Iowa pitcher to come to BR next year.
Keep up the good work!

We are spoiled in that ESPN spent so much money (well, maybe between them / LSU / SEC) in setting up broadcast abilities in all our facilities, which they did throughout the SEC.
Last year the Astros broadcast the games at MMP using their facilities.
I would not think Dell Diamond has that kind of broadcast abilities, so they are probably having to bring in a lot of tech. Which adds a lot of cost.
10 years ago radio would have been the only option.

I remember the days when only watching college baseball wasn’t even an option. I appreciate this effort.

Thanks Kendall! Good effort w/ Kyle and Ben and the high quality video feed, but you can’t compete with that free radio shite. Gonna have a couple of my associates over, smoke a few bowls and air up the tires on my house. Maybe next year!

Lmao that’s how I look at it that’s like two Big Macs and McDonald’s I can afford the 25$ for 3 LSU baseball games which is most likely better for my health!

We’re using an ESPN level production crew .. this isn’t a Flo production my man.
Kendall, you can have the highest resolution possible, and bring back all of the greatest announcers of all time back from the dead, and there still won't be much incentive to pay a monthly type of price for a weekend of games, or even 10 dollars for a day. You have to at least have a more attractive collection of teams.
What has happened here, and continues to happen elsewhere, is you're taking games away from the normal platforms that people are already paying to use, and paying what I would assume is a pretty high amount to pry them away from competitors to make them exclusively available on your platform, and you're leveraging that exclusivity to make the price of signing up as high as you have. That might seem like normal business practice, but charging that much just for a weekend is not very practical, especially when people are already paying for other streaming services to watch sports regularly.
And you say it could have been higher? Well that just makes me feel all better.

It could have just been on SEC network+, instead of this. This "effort" is not helping. They just bought the streaming rights for this event.

Or…ESPN/SEC decided not to carry it so, Kendall’s team stepped in. Had they not stepped in, you’d have zero options to watch other than buying a ticket.

Not a chance ESPN+ wouldn't have the preseason number one team when they carry 100 games a weekend. Most likely they didn't want to carry some of the other games, or the tournament itself got a sweetheart deal from D1. Either way I hope they lose their arse on it so we can stop this 8 different streaming services madness.

They carry 100 games a weekend from home parks of teams in conferences they already have contracts with.
You people are fricking dense.

It’s amazing that the games have been on streaming for this long and people still don’t understand how TV contracts work.
This same tournament last year had a pair of top 10 teams in it and it was on FloSports.

The other option for this was FloSports, which went entire games this weekend with no announcers and with cheesecloth covering the camera lenses.
Flo Sports also has a predatory pricing structure that is much less straightforward than what D1B is doing and has the potential to be much more expensive.
ESPN was never going to show this and D1B did not give them a "sweetheart" deal to get the rights away from ESPN.
Whatever people may feel about the larger direction of tv vs streaming, having a company that actually cares about the customers enter the arena is a good thing. ESPN could not give less of a shite about college baseball fans. They stream the games because if they didn't, they wouldn't have football and basketball games to show.

No ESPN is contractually obligated to carry those games on the weekend so they can broadcast the football teams in those same conferences and make money.
It is not worth their time or money to pick up the rights for a tournament of a regionalized sport to begin with in the middle of the college basketball season.

I’m just happy to have an option to watch it.

He’s already said this is the exact opposite of what happened.

This is directly targeted at profiting off of LSU too. None of those other fanbases will come even close to matching the amount of fans LSU has interested in this. It’s ridiculous!
Exactly this. It's extortion and I'll be damned if I'm paying for it. Baseball is made for radio anyway. Which a-hole in the AD agreed to this?
