OK Buddy. Let’s not go back to February with all of your apologies for PM’s poor decisions. I am happy for this team and PM. The reality is that we won Sunday and Monday bc of Oregon’s poor decisions and despite PM’s. If you can’t see that, you are clearly not the baseball savant you try to portray on this board. If you can’t see that Oregon’s manager put his pitcher and first baseman in a position of failure Monday night, then you have no clue about what it means to be a good coach. If you can’t see that Oregon’s coach was an idiot for allowing Dugas to see fastballs in the zone after the first HR Sunday, then again you have no idea what it means to be a good coach. Being a good coach means teaching your kids the tools to success and putting them in positions to be successful.

A) Josh doesn’t portray himself on here as a baseball savant. He’s as humble of a poster as we have
B) Tell me more about Oregon’s coach trying to pick Beloso off of first base

We'll need to score a lot of runs.

Why do you even post in baseball threads anymore? Why won't you just go away?

I didn’t say he was trying to pick him off. Y’all have problems with reading comprehension. He played squeeze bunt defense. My point is that it served him no purpose to have the pitcher throw over or do anything to suggest to the pitcher to throw over when he had his first baseman crashing on the bunt.

Yes, we will. Hopefully they throw their ace Sunday as has been mentioned and we can hit the #2 guy enough Saturday night.

That much is true.
But what did that have to do with the coach not knowing the scouting report and Beloso having zero stolen bases the year?

Well, yes I am bc PM’s decisions had nothing to do with winning the regional. Oregon’s manager allowing his pitchers to repeatedly throw fastballs in the zone to Dugas won the regional. Oregon’s manager asking his pitchers to throw over to first when the runner had not attempted a steal all year won the regional. Pulling Hilliard and Hellmers did not win the regional. We won despite those decisions.

Except about wanting mcdonnell, i want all the credit for that suggestion a couple years ago

If you are PM and you see them throw to first once in that situation with Beloso’s slow arse on first——what does it tell you ?
There is a reason PM pulled the bunt sign OFF after the first pitch. Oregon tipped its hand.
Despite this , Oregon’s coach continues to allow to throw over and then sends a crash signal. Pitcher was put in a position to fail Ins pressure filled moment. Most kids fail when you have them try something complicated in a pressure situation. Bad coaches do things like this , not good coaches.

Wow. How about it was two good teams playing well, and one of them just playing a little bit better. Because thats what i saw. Did you watch oregon’s coaches press conference after the game? I did. You dont seem to know what they were trying to do. It was a miscommunication that did them in, and they werent trying to pickoff beloso.

Still think it should be Labas game 1 instead of Hilliard. When Labas is on, he's 10x better than Hilliard

In the position oregon was in, especially after lsu showed bunt the first time, they absolutely had to play for the bunt, if not, you risk lsu getting it down and the run scoring. It was a cat and mouse game. Oregon had a communication error. Thats it. Mainieri himself said after the game that it was a good defense for their bunt and they probably get the out at home if the first pitch was a strike

Don’t you understand the Rant by now? We won the regional so everything that was done was an absolutely perfect decision and going forward until we lose all decisions will also be seen as perfect.

I think I would have gone with Labas as well only because he will typically go deeper in the game than Hilliard will.
If Hilliard does not go deeper in the game then we will be using alot of bullpen arms in game 1 and lets face it, our bullpen ain't very deep!

Again—you have poor reading comprehension. It’s not the decision to crash that out the pitcher in a poor position. Having him throw over did. He tipped his hand for no reason (Beloso isn’t going anywhere) and now the pitcher has it I. His mind to throw over. You are depending upon a 19 or so year old kid in a pressure situation to realize he shouldn’t grow over or that he has to step off to throw over if the first baseman has crashed. The manager put him in that position. If you want to know if PM has the bunt sign on, throw a pitch out of the zone without anyone crashing. It’s safe and simple. That’s the call in this situation.
