She's okay with it. Even if Whit's procareer doesn't work out, they'll be set for life

Everyone was tired of the 3 yds and a cloud of dust offense. Miles couldn't develop a QB to save his life and refused to change his style. Schembechler and that style of offense been dead for awhile

Oh I hope this is true and LSU gets soft arse Kiffin....talk about not learning from youre mistakes...... ? To do this right after the massive clusterfrick in signing Kelly......oh this would be just to funny.
You chastised another poster in another thread for not just debating college football and here you are here doing exactly what you chastised the other poster for, being a baby back bitch.

We could’ve gotten him a lot cheaper 4 years ago but they decided to go with Kelly. Kiffin was the right hire 4 years ago, just like he’s the right hire today. It just cost $54m to buyout Kelly and probably $5m more a year.

I just don’t think it’s nearly as much of a can’t-miss hire as people are making it out to be, and I think there’s a major flaw in the “if he did that at OM, imagine what he could do at LSU” logic.
Indeed

But that's really all you can go by when chasing someone.

Florida is still in the mix too. They've been too quiet. Think they're going to match everything.

Pray that Florida slides in and hijacks this deal. It's an insane amount of money for a Coach that hasn't won anything and has a reputation of not following thru with commitments. It seems like LSU is only ever interested is throwing money around for the sake of a headline and a Coach who's filled with character flaws.

Brian Kelly had Cincinnati at #2 in the county when we hired him at Notre Dame....he took a shite program to the top of the heap.....how did that work out for us.....how did he work out for you? Luke Fickell took the same Cincinnatti team to the college playoffs in 2021....how is he doing at Wisconsin?....he will be fired at the end of the year. Lane Kiffin is a flash in the pan like these guys.
I think Kiffin is hungry. That's something you need.

We all laugh at the bone-headed calls, going for it on 4th all the time (me too), but you gotta do that to separate.
We loved Les when he was the "riverboat gambler"; his punter threw a pass against Arizona State out of the endzone on his first drive at LSU. It worked. Against Florida that famous game, he went for it on 4th down 5 times and got it, in a close win.

Everyone praises Clark Lea for turning Vanderbilt around... LSU wins that game if Lea punts on 4th down.

Recruits see an aggressive coach and want to play for him, it helps recruiting. I know, NIL... but if the offers are close you still want to play for the guy who says frick it, let's go. We're gonna win.

Maybe youre just angry but its pretty simple.....Freeman had Notre Dame in the title game last year in just his 3rd year of head coaching. Brian Kelly didnt do it til his 8th year of coaching Notre Dame. Freeman winning percentage is 41-12 after 4 years. Brian Kelly was 37-15. Its not rocket science, kid.

It’s not rocket science but you’re being intentionally disingenuous as well.

Brian Kelly took over a ND program that was .565 in the 5 seasons before he got there, with no benefit of a transfer portal or NIL.

Freeman took over a ND program from Kelly that was .844 in Kelly’s last 5 seasons and Freeman had the benefit of being the DC at ND for Kelly’s last year, plus the added benefit of portal and NIL.

I’m not posting this to discredit Freeman, because I think he’s a great coach who has done a great job.

But you’re being a dishonest troll acting like Kelly and Freeman had the same starting points at ND and their beginning years can be compared apples to apples.

$90/7 is more than $100/10.

I guess Landry is math challenged.

Reminder that LK has never won anything as HC.

You think we getting a top coach for 5 mil a year?

There is a LOT of room between $5 million and $14 million, not to mention the length of the contract. He's a nomad, always looking for the next job.

If he's the next coach, I really hope he proves me wrong, but his track record says he leaves by 2030 for something else with no hardware in the trophy case.
