I read the article. Over not hiring wade back and a few other things. The governor went to what is now ull.

These things are done with the understanding they'll be handled by private funds. Woodward is amazing at fundraising with private donors. And he's a big game hunter that will go get another top coaching candidate if he's allowed to.

The fallout? People were talking about how great of a job opening LSU was before the governor opened his mouth. There is no fallout from the greater college football community. Kelly didn't win and lost the team, we got rid of him. That's just the sport.

I've been critical of him, but he wouldn't go on ESPN without holding the cards. Just my opinion.

Woodward extended Coach O's contract and had to buy him out two years later.

Woodward was heavily involved in 3 of the top 8 highest buyouts of all time in college football.
But at least Woodward rid LSU basketball of that black eye Will Wade and got men's basketball back on solid ground.
