I truly think I don’t really care anymore

I def feel more butterflies watching NFL and bills games now over LSU and college.

Never thought I would be there

You think Gordon got a bunch more business by spending $2 million on LSU players?

Gordan said that it helped improve public perception of him and his firm. Injury attorneys are not viewed positively and are looked at as snakes/ambulance chasers generally. It was beneficial to his business in this way.

I think the bigger problem with this is that we have no clue if that 1 coach would ever want to come back to LSU. This administration and that 1 coach aren't exactly on the best terms.

No we don't, but Scott does not even want that to be a scenario no matter how unlikely that he even has a chance he has to entertain.

It helped his public perception because people in Louisiana are LSU fans and he was helping get players to LSU. People still think that injury attorneys are snakes/ambulance chasers, that didn't change because he paid Harold Perkins to make a post on Instagram.

a damn shame college football has come to this.

I wish they could take the top 500 players and go make a minor league system that nobody would watch. The rest who CHOOSE to play for the colleges would get what they used to get plus some amount set aside for them for after graduation. There were definite flaws with the old system, but the bulk of the value in college football is in the fan’s attachment to the college, not the players who are auctioned to the highest bidder. People are going to eventually figure that out once the sport is fully ruined.

Probably true as well. Wade caused a lot of headache for Woodward and likely lied to him. Not saying it's necessarily right, but I understand it.

Its a generational thing. I absolutely hate what it has become but my 20 year old son (huge LSU fan and student) seems fine with it. He is the right now and future, not us.

But He's also not an idiot - he knows alot of big money LSU folks would love to have WW back and would pay for it and he also knows ticket sales would immediately soar and the environment around the program would do a Kim Mulkey/Bruce Pearl type 180 and invigorate everything around it.

They still have obligations to fulfil.

Finally got around to watching The Money Game on prime this week. Interesting that the obligations seem to be things like 2 snapchat stories, an instagram post, and an instagram story at least for people like Livvy Dunne.

Obviously, there are other situations that require things like a photoshoot, but it was a little sad to watch them all act exasperated by those requirements like it was taking a lot out of them.

I definitely don't think he's an idiot. He could have a little bit of an ego though, or hold grudges, I have no clue. There's also a chance that Wade told him he'll never coach at LSU again as long as he is the AD.

I don't think there's much of one. Bottom line is he does not want even the slightest crack in the door where he'd have to even address this and he's going to make sure of it.

Well no longer having a connection to the roster sucks…just mercenaries here for 1-2 years in most cases now. I still watch and get into it when the games come. Just not as excited during the week or let wins or losses stick with me much longer after the game.

How do we know this is actually true?

I hate articles like this that treat suspicions and opinions and facts when in actuality no one except a select few people within the program knows how much money we’ve had in NIL since 2021.

The entire article is about the inner workings of the lsu nil program.

He talked to Woodward and Austin Thomas about the nfl system they put in place. Of course he got the numbers from lsu. I don't understand why you don't think those numbers are real.

Maybe because you were one of the people saying lsu wasn't poor when it came to nil.

It’s the same thing with youth sports. We will be the last generation that remembers what it was like before the money got involved. Kids now think it’s normal to specialize on a sport in elementary and will never know a time when rec sports thrived. Maybe it will all come full circle, maybe it won’t. I know I spend a lot less time watching college football now than I used to. It will definitely be interesting to see which way it all goes in the coming decades.

It’s more interesting to the kids, they follow players through their career and aren’t as attached to a school.

When I was a kid…a Louisiana kid leaves to go play for Miami or Florida…they’re dead to me.

The athletes are an entity unlike in the past. It really got to a head when LSU held those bayou bash signing day events. Kids were beginning to be entities…there was just no money involved.

I think people take the top 50 players’ experience and project that on all SEC or college football players. It’s not like that for everyone. Most players put everything they have into being a good teammate. They will replace your arse if you don’t. Hell, they may anyway.
