I'm down for Musselman, slam dunk.

Why would Scott Drew leave Baylor for LSU exactly? Does he have ties?

Is it, though? Do we know if he can recruit?

That's a shitty list and right up Alleva's alley.

Baylor has money and is desperate to maintain their basketball status with football under so much turmoil.

Still you have to wonder if Scott drew wants to leave the rape scandal bs surrounding the entire program. He already owns Louisiana in recruiting. Plus while I think there's a ceiling for LSU, we're a stronger brand than Baylor with just as nice facilities

What is your issue with Kermit? Multiple analysts yesterday picked him to go to the Sweet 16 this year. And they beat 2 seed Michigan State last year.

He is not my first choice, but Kermit will go P5 soon.

This is LSU and the Alleva show. What did you expect?

Kermit was not an assistant here when Alleva was the AD. This is irrelevant.

A Brady-era retread that has had some success at a mid-major. Just terribly underwhelming. I wish we had the balls to try and make a splash. But I guess this is what I should expect these days.

Higgins doesn't have a clue. He's spit balling or talking out of his rectal orifice.

Davis can't recruit LA
I don't want ties to the Brady era.

If it's Davis, it will be the same old, same old BS.

This basketball program needs a game changer, someone that can take the job and run with it. I know we're going to have trouble luring an established guy but do your homework and find a winner.

Tbh we could do so much worse than Kermit BUT I totally get where you're coming from, and it probably wouldn't reinvigorate the fanbase (perhaps barring an unforeseen sweet 16 run by middle). He's probably our safety net at best anyway.

I know Drew would have taken the job in 2008, but even with The Baylor clusterfrick, I can't see him leaving for this job now.

I've always liked Musselmann but i feel like it's a sliding double when we need to at least get to third base. (lol Alleva)

His father is close with Dale Brown and coached on his first staff at LSU. LSU would allow Drew the opportunity to recruit the EXACT SAME AREA he does at Baylor now (TX and LA). It would be a tough sell, no question, and LSU would have to be willing to pay at least $3 million per. The selling point would be that he could get paid extremely well; have the same players, but compete in a less daunting conf.; and escape an Athletic Dept. which is likely under a microscope after all of the negative attention they've gotten in the last 15 years.

Musselman would be a good coach, but I just don't think he would be long for LSU if he has quick success. The guy doesn't really have ties to the region (other than his one season at LSU) and he's never been hesitant to move jobs. I think every season LSU would be dealing with a bit of a Saban-like situation where there is talk that he would leave. Now you could say that about all coaches, but Musselman has job-hopped a ton in his career.

If that is the three names, then Musselman is probably the most realistic. However, LSU would be wise to at least consider Steve Forbes at ETSU. The guy is a big time recruiter in this region and can coach. A lot of people would not be shocked at all if he beats Florida on Thursday. He's not staying at ETSU long, and someone is likely going to get a hell of a coach in him.

yeah i think davis would be fired in 4-5 years.

scott drew is a pipe dream.

i think musselman would be solid and might be the best we could realistically hope for.
